Silicon Valley Funding News - Week of September 27, 2021. Fivetran Raised $565M Series D

Chinese regulators banned all cryptocurrency-related transactions in the country on Friday. Yep, it’s illegal to buy a Degen Ape NFT in China now. 😢 This ban is not unexpected, but now it's official that mining and trading cryptocurrency is now illegal.

Venture Capital does not evolve as fast as tech, but it does evolve. Greylock Partners and Andreessen Horowitz both announced their giant $400M+ seed funds last month. Robust investment in early-stage startups is a good predictor of the strength of venture markets overall.  Having said that,  I think raising too early or too much, while tempting, can be the biggest mistake a startup founder can make.

Many US businesses are cash-rich, thanks to low interest rates on debt and strong earnings fueled by the economic recovery. The problem: supply and labor shortages are limiting how much companies can invest back into their businesses. Last week, Microsoft's board approved a buy back plan for as much as $60B of its stock — the largest share repurchase program ever.
