Flavio - FREE EBOOK 📖 😀 How to Start a Blog

Hi Reader

This is Tuesday and as usual, here I am with the latest tutorials I wrote.

But today, I have something big to announce.

2 years ago I published an ebook called "Creating a Successful Blog".

Today, to celebrate reaching 1500 posts on my blog, I'm happy to announce I'm making the book free for everyone, and I'm also rebranding it to "How to Start a Blog".

In this book I distill all the things I learned by writing that huge amount of posts in a few years and getting millions of people come to my website.

As a subscriber to my newsletter, you can download it freely in PDF and ePub formats.

Why am I making it free now? I'm writing a blog post on this topic (of course!) but in a short summary, I believe things have a lifespan. Like a brand new phone, it costs a lot when it's released, because it's fresh and new. But as time goes on, its value decreases.

The same with the book. In 2 years it might be irrelevant, and I might put it out of my catalog. Instead, I want to give it a new life by making it free, so a lot of people can benefit from reading it, rather than having a paywall to access its information which limits its fruibility.

This is similar to open sourcing a piece of software that you built in the past and it's on your computer unused. After the first launch, when we also had a very cool challenge to create your own blog, the book hasn't had a lot of readers, it's just sitting there.

As it took me months and a lot of effort to write it, it's full of useful information and it's a pain to see it collecting dust.

Here's a new life for it!

I am very thankful to the people that purchased the book in the past, I've been thinking about you a lot when taking this decision. I want to tell you that you are the ones that made possible this gift to everyone.

On the blog, I'm continuing my SwiftUI series:

Speaking about the blog, I did a little tweaking to the design, adding back the sidebar I had a few months ago, and having on the home page the full list of posts. Sometimes I need to make a change to the website design, I just can't resist.

In other news, I'm super focused into creating the new course I'll organize in November: the JavaScript Masterclass

The course will be the best way to learn JavaScript, according to me ðŸ˜„.

It will be a one-time 4 weeks long cohort-based course with a dedicated community and my mentoring.

The course will open signups in November, you can sign up to the waiting list now!

Thanks for reading, and see you next week with more goodies.
