Tip of the Day

Need to polish some silver but don’t have proper polish on hand? Use a little toothpaste and an old toothbrush to remove the tarnish.

Happy Wednesday! Before we get into the usual Hump Day camel fact we typically open with, we want to take a moment to highlight a cause near and dear to us at the LifeSavvy Media family: food allergies.

Halloween is just around the corner and for parents with children that have life-threatening food allergies, it’s a tough time of year. You want your kiddo to have fun but you also don’t want them to end up in the emergency room. Enter the Teal Pumpkin Project. We wrote about it in detail, including all the ways you can make Halloween safer for kids in your neighborhood.

Let’s make our camel fact for the day particularly topical. Camel milk has been studied on and off over the years as a cure for various things including allergies. In a small study conducted back in 2005, all the children with serious dairy allergies that were treated with daily servings of camel milk recovered fully and were no longer allergic to regular cow milk.

Boy, that’s a tough one to smoothly transition from because I think I spent all my smooth-transition points making the jump from Halloween candy to camel milk! So let’s just dig right into some of the other highlights:

And water cooler trivia? Here we go. On this day in 1792, the cornerstone was laid for the White House, kicking off construction on one of the most iconic residences in the world. Also on this day, in 1903, the Boston Americans (later renamed the Boston Red Sox) beat the Pittsburgh Pirates to take home the first World Series title.
