Relese Recap
Social Status x Nike Dunk "Strawberry Milk" Social Status released the "Strawberry Milk" Nike Dunks this weekend, marking the second colorway and release they’ve done with the footwear giant. With the success of the previous release, our members were already confident going into this one, as Social Status has shown they can execute on a high-heat release with this much demand. While these releases are already smoother than most, our members
had a couple more tools at their disposal.
Along with running our usual live Zoom to support the release, our launch team was able to identify the new domain ahead of time, and our members-only SoleSavy assist Chrome Extension, made sure our members got through the checkout process as fast as possible. The Ws flooded our #copped channels quickly after, putting Social Status on the "FCFS Release Hall of Fame."

The LRG "Dead Serious" Hoodie is Back From The Dead In 2006, the year the Dead Serious Hoodie was worn by Kanye West and released at retail, skateboard fashion and hip-hop were more merged than ever. Outside of Kanye’s keen co-opting, many artists were really out there with Pharrell, Lupe Fiasco, and Lil Wayne dressing the part. Just the same, skaters like Terry Kennedy and Jimmy Gorecki were
bringing hip-hop flavor to the sport.
Veteran journalist Ian Stonebrook gives us a history lesson on LRG's famed "Dead Serious" hoodie upon its return with the help of Benny The Butcher 15 years later. Read more here.

WNBA Finals
Candace Parker: Hometown Hero Candace Parker and the Chicago Sky are WNBA champions. After being voted as the most overrated player in the W by her peers in 2019 and even benched in a decisive elimination game with Los Angeles Sparks, Parker went back home with one goal in mind: a championship. But credit to the Sky as a whole. Finals MVP Kahleah Copper, Windy City native Allie Quigley, and the rest of the squad put on a show.
Even as a Mercury fan, I'm honestly happy for Candace Parker and the Chicago Sky. Yes, winning the franchise's first championship is the headline. But having Chicago's finest bringing it home? That's poetic justice.
She graced a SLAM cover, finally got her own signature shoe collection with adidas
Basketball, and even was on the cover of 2K22. Candace Parker has been a legend. That much we already knew even before the Finals run. But bringing it home after being doubted? You can't write a better homecoming for CP3. Put some respect on her name if you're still in denial. In her own words, "take the surprise out ya voice."

SoleStyle: The Pants That Draped Sneakers Through the Years For years now, sneakerheads have been searching for the perfect pant pairings with their favorite grails. While buying sneakers isn’t what it used to be (a SoleSavy membership will help you with that), there have never been more options for us in the pant department. That said, there have always been one or two trends that have dominated
the sneaker space, dating back to the original online forum days. From jeans to joggers to double knees, let’s take a look back at the pants that have sat atop our sneakers through all these years.

D’Wayne Edwards continues to make history. The Pensole Design Academy founder is set to reopen a historic HBCU, marking the first time that a closed historically Black college and university will reopen. The Lewis College of Business, founded by the late Violet T. Lewis, closed in 2013. Edwards, the controlling stockholder for the university, is bringing new life to the Detroit HBCU. More details here.

Yeezy x GAP Hoodies: The Best & Worst Hoodies of All Time With the Yeezy x GAP hoodies landing in the hands of eager fans, hilarity ensued on the internet as the reviews came rolling in, like Reddit's Limp-Mathematician75.
First, the hoodie ended up being more cropped than everyone had anticipated, resulting in some funny photos of people who should have sized up at least one or two sizes. It would also become clear that there were two camps of
people: one that thought this was the best hoodie in the world, and the other thinking they were absolutely awful. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who was in the middle of the two, as the sought-after hoodie would become one of the most debated things on the timeline that following week. Some claimed that $90 was too expensive, comparing the quality to that of sub-$60 counterparts, while some claim the hoodie was a steal at $90 and compared to that of $200+ hoodies that mainline Yeezy has done in the past.
While the search for a perfect hoodie is a lost cause, a conversation to be had for another day, it’s almost fitting that this is the reception to the Yeezy x Gap Hoodies. After all, there might not be a more polarizing figure in fashion and music than Kanye West himself.

Upcoming Releases
Behind the Design of the OFF-WHITe x Air Jordan 2 The highly anticipated OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 2 collection is almost here. And like most Virgil Abloh creations, awe and scrutiny arose when images of the pair surfaced. From bashing the aged and cracked midsole to questioning Jordan’s signature on the shoe and even dismissing the collection when the $250 price point leaked, the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 2
Low caught strays across Instagram, Twitter and think pieces. Abloh then went across Instagram comments over the last few days addressing the criticism and providing more context and insight into the design process. In addition, Abloh dropped the illustration files and the 3D galleries of both colorways, allowing a more in-depth analysis of his latest creative endeavor.
Learn more about the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 2 from Virgil himself. Read here.
