Yes - While I am a fiscal conservative, I also believe quality universal child care and Pre-K gives our country the best chance to eliminate generational poverty. If a child begins Kindergarten already behind academically, it is very difficult to catch up and that may follow them throughout their entire life. Quality child care also enables mothers to pursue education and career goals, further benefiting the entire family and society at large.
