The 3-2-1 Newsletter - 3-2-1 is back (version 2.0)

Hello my friends.

Sorry I've been away for a while. My last two months have been very eventful. But I'm back and going to get back to the grind. I know how many people love this newsletter. So you will love this little update!

What's new in 3-2-1 newsletter V2.0:

  • New tech topics with more insights and gems
  • New format [short & straight to the point to save your time]

Sounds cool? Here's what I picked this week. Enjoy :-)

💎 Tech & Dev World

1. PART 1: THE INTERNET IS HAVING A KODAK MOMENT + PART 2: CREATING THE NEW FRONTIER

TL;DR: One entrepreneur didn't understand crypto, but then decided to study it, connected all the dots and now explains why crypto is the future.

Why I enjoy it: Lots of great analogies, stories about the tech world, reflections and it's well written.

Favorite lines: "Kodak, after having literally invented the digital camera, failed to recognize that digital was quickly becoming the inevitable future of photography. They simply couldn’t imagine a world where people would choose digital over film; they failed to see what digital would actually become, and just how quickly its customers would adopt it."

2. How to win at CORS

TL;DR: Ultimate guide to CORS.

Why I enjoy it: Short and full of knowledge.

3. Every search bar looks like a URL bar to users

TL;DR: Why users don't really understand interfaces.

Why I enjoy it: Interesting UX case.

Favorite lines: Users don't really understand interfaces. Computers don't really understand users. Big Data assumes that users are behaving in semi-rational manner.

🔥 Web Development

1. A (Mostly) Complete Guide to React Rendering Behavior

TL;DR: Details on how React rendering behaves, and how use of Context and React-Redux affect rendering.

Why I enjoy it: I don't know any article from the React team about how React works internally. This article shows what's under the hood.

2. Building an effective Image Component

TL;DR: How the Next.js Image component was designed and what lessons were learned along the way.

Why I enjoy it: A lot of nuggets on how <img> works, its flaws and how to fix them.
