Hi There,

On Tuesday, I talked about how the Pro builds their audience BEFORE they launch.

Today, I want to share a tip that is hiding right in front of you.

Here's an uncomfortable truth.

The Dabbler launches and hopes…

The PRO launches and KNOWS how it is going to go.

Hmmm.

But what do they know?

How do they know it?

And how can you know it too?

Well…

They have a MASSIVE research department.

Even larger than some big corporations.

It’s called TWITTER.

WHAT?

…I can hear your reply. And, I have a feeling it is much shorter than 280 characters.

BUT HEAR ME OUT.

I love Twitter. It is an amazing social media platform. Especially if you love words. I use it every day.

But it is ALSO the SINGLE best FREE RESEARCH TOOL on the PLANET.

Let me walk you through why I think that.

Most corporations have hundreds of people in their research department.

I have a modest Twitter following of 13,000 people. If I want to test something today, I have thousands of people to give me feedback. If you look at the world through that lens, my research department is bigger than theirs.

But MOST PEOPLE only use Twitter to share their message, not to LISTEN to feedback.

Hmmm.

BUT PROS USE IT DIFFERENTLY.

Because they know.

‘Twitter is great for writers, investors and entrepreneurs. You post your thoughts and get instant feedback that’s more unfiltered than anything you will get face to face.’

Allison Allen.

Pros use it so that when they launch, they have ALREADY tested.

  • They know because they used Twitter to listen.
  • They listened, they tweaked.
  • They reframed.
  • They rethought.
  • They iterated.
  • They changed offers.
  • Tweeted again.
  • Listened again.
  • And repeat.

When the time came to launch, they weren’t hoping.

They KNEW.

The reason Twitter is the best research dept.

It's the fastest feedback loop ever.

According to social media experts, the average shelf life of a Tweet is 15 minutes. Think of Twitter as a motorway.

It is the fastest social media platform of them all. It has the shortest shelf life. When you are producing content, that can be a challenge. Don't blink.

But when you are using it for research, that means you are only 15 minutes away from doing a re-test.

You will literally know in minutes, or even seconds, if an idea sucks.

  • You can test a set of words, then test again.
  • You can test your tone.
  • You can test an offer.
  • You can test a reframe of the offer.
  • You can test a by-line.
  • You can test a tag line.
  • You can test a photo.

This takes minutes. Not hours. And not days.

Measure fast.

Iterate fast.

Launch after listening.

Words matter for your launch.

‘Twitter is the best writing improvement tool ever, well, since the rubber.’

Listen. Learn. Launch.

1. You can do polls. 24-hour polls.

2. You can set up a Twitter watch list, and only watch the people you are focused on.

3 .You can measure engagement within minutes.

What to measure?

Engagement.

Silence.

The gaps in between.

So, how do you use Twitter as a research tool?

Well, it requires you to listen.

Engagement comes in a variety of forms: likes, retweets, and comments. Now, you must learn to translate what they mean. That will come with time.

A good rule of thumb is if you are not sure what the engagement from the tweet is telling you, try another test with a slight change. Strong signals are easier to read.

Indifference is harder to gauge. But it is an important signal to spot BEFORE you launch.

Good questions to ask.

What is pulling them towards you?

What is pushing them from you?

Listen harder than anyone else.

If you do that, there is no reason to have a bad launch.

If you listen like a PRO.

You will launch like one.

Pro Twitter tips.

1.         Have a test account. See it in the real world. Formatting matters.

2.         Every tweet should only have one idea. That is plenty.

3.         Make it easy to look at. Use white space.

On Twitter, you can build a network solely based on your clarity and quality of thought.

Have a Twitter List. (Hawk on the lamppost strategy.)

A Twitter list is a curated group of accounts. Create one or subscribe to a list created by others to streamline your timeline.

(I liken this to the hawk I see on the lamppost on the farm, it just sits, watches, and waits for the information it needs in order to have lunch.)

Set up a list to watch a subject or a person you want to learn from, listen to and get insights from.

Pro-Tip: Follow the likes of the people who you like. You will learn what drives them.

To finish up, just think about it this way.

Twitter is the sharing of ideas in a compressed form. That is why it is so good at perfecting your ideas.

Tweet. Rewrite. Improve.

With this FREE amazing research tool, you can have a successful launch without getting lucky.

Hope that was of some help.

KEYBOARD CEO PRO: YOU’VE GOT QUESTIONS. WE'VE GOT ANSWERS.

I've done a few of your other courses. How does this one differ?

This is the culmination of 30+ years of learning from David Hieatt and Mike Coulter. It focuses primarily on using your keyboard to increase your sales. KCEO Pro has been tried, tested and refined over 18 months. This is the concentrated essence of how to grow your business without working longer.

I've tried my hand at writing before and not seen much effect. Will you be able to help?

We will teach you how to connect with another human being. We will not teach you how to spell, or how to get better at grammar. Or how to be a poet. We will teach you how to sell better by using a keyboard and more insightful strategies. Great writing comes from great thinking.

I can’t seem to grow my audience, no matter what I do. Will this course help?

Ahh, it can be tough. You try something, it doesn’t work. You try something else. It still doesn’t work. We’ve been there. Which is why in KCEO Pro there is an entire lesson dedicated to understanding your tribe, and how to attract them.

I don’t have a business yet, but I’m hoping to start one.

Then you’re in the right place. Learn all the tools and tips you need to hit the ground running, from how to build an audience to how to launch your great idea.  You’ll go straight from amateur to PRO.

I'm not sure I have the time.

Then this is definitely for you. A big part of what we want you to learn is how to be more time effective, and stop being so busy. Working longer is NOT growing your business. And it’s exhausting.

I am a team of one but I outsource the writing. Would this course help me learn to do it myself?

Yes. Now's the time for you to find your voice and learn to write for yourself. And, knowing this stuff will help you guide your people better.

This sounds too business-y for me.

This is for all sorts of people and their companies: coffee roasters, bakers, farmers and storytellers. The Keyboard CEO Pro doesn’t have to wear a suit. In fact, we’d prefer it that way.

What if I can't make the live Q&A?

No problem. It will be recorded and shared with everyone who purchases the course.

How long will I have access to this course?

It is yours for life. So, you can watch as many times as you desire.

I'd like my team to do this course.

Great - check out our info on courses for teams and get in touch.

What if I buy it and don't see the value?

We are here to help our community. We will not be happy unless we provide incredible value. If this course isn’t right for you, then we will give you a full refund up to 30 days after purchase. No questions asked.
