Power BI Weekly #132 - 9th November 2021
Power BI Weekly Newsletter Issue #132
powered by endjin
Welcome to the 132nd edition of Power BI Weekly! It's an Ignite bumper edition this week - with Rupali Jain sharing the main summary blog: Ignite 2021: Enabling data-driven decisions everywhere collaboration happens with enterprise-grade analytics. That blog highlights the announcements such as the new Goals updates and features, the GA of the Power BI app for Microsoft Teams, along with another reminder of the upcoming Hybrid tables support mentioned earlier in the year at MBAS. Not announced in the blog above, but just as exciting, is the Improved Export to Excel and Connected PivotTables, with the former now providing the option to maintain a table's or matrix's layout when exporting data.
Aside from Ignite, a few blogs to improve/refine your filtering knowledge this week. First of all, Mihaly Kavasi has written a Slicers or Filters – Comprehensive Guide to serve as your go-to resource for determining the similarities and differences, Prathy Kamasani has described how to show the number of selected items in a Power BI slicer to better understand how many things are being filtered on your page, and in a similar vein, Patrick Leblanc has shared a video titled What's this Power BI report filtered by? with a handful of techniques for you to decipher exactly what's going on.
