This week’s money mood: A retirement unlike any other

The past year and a half has changed the way so many of us think about work, balance, and what we want our lives to look like. Millions of people did something about it today via the Great Resignation — and now it’s time to think about what that means for the future.

Retirement isn’t black and white. It’s not one-size-fits-all. And it definitely doesn’t have to be “work full-time until you’re 65 and then suddenly stop.” It can be staying employed longer, but with lots of sabbaticals sprinkled in. It can be dropping to part-time work for the last ten years. It can be starting your own non-profit at age 60. It can be anything you want.

You just have to plan for it.

In last month’s Ellevest Financial Wellness Survey, only 38% of women said they were satisfied with their retirement savings. We made these resources to help change that number. Starting with you.

Cheering for you so hard,
