The Return Of Big Labor | COP26 Countdown | Nasdaq's Youngest CEO

Good morning.

Amazon might have easily defeated the first major attempt to unionize its warehouse workers in Alabama earlier this year but now the Teamsters union has joined the fight.  We are also looking at the dwindling chances to reach an agreement on scrapping fossil fuel subsidies at COP26, and how a SPAC merger spawned America’s youngest-ever CEO of a public company. And finally meet Kimbal Musk, Elon’s youngest brother, who has found sitting on Telsa’s board to be a lucrative gig.

phase out of fossil fuel subsidies. But the wording of the pledge has become a battleground for negotiators and, as the conference comes to a close, its survival is all but guaranteed.

Uber will increase its
fares by 10% in London in a bid to lure back drivers lost during the pandemic to rival ride-hailing and food delivery apps but it will continue to take a quarter of every fare in commission.

Autonomous trucking software company,
Embark, went public via a blank-check merger at a $5 billion valuation, making its 26-year-old inventor Alex Rodrigues the youngest CEO of a publicly traded company.

Electric vehicle maker Rivian hasn’t delivered many of its intriguing new pickup trucks, but on its second day as a public company saw a 22% spike in its share price that turned the relatively small, but heavily funded upstart, into the second-most valuable U.S. automaker.

A much-anticipated Phase 2b clinical trial involving psilocybin, the psychedelic ingredient in magic mushrooms, yielded promising results for Compass Pathways, a U.K.-based company that is developing a patented form of the drug combined with therapy to treat severe depression.
