A military court in Myanmar sentenced American journalist Danny Fenster to 11 years in prison. He was detained in May, one of dozens of journalists arrested in the aftermath of a military coup earlier this year.

American gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Sunisa Lee said she was recently pepper-sprayed and targeted with anti-Asian slurs in Los Angeles.

The Teamsters, one of the biggest and most powerful unions in the U.S., voted overwhelmingly to bring the unionization fight to Amazon. That battle will pit the century-old union against the ecommerce behemoth across yards, city council meetings and on Capitol Hill.

A historic breakthrough appeared within reach at COP26 when the first draft of the agreement called for a
phase out of fossil fuel subsidies. But the wording of the pledge has become a battleground for negotiators and, as the conference comes to a close, its survival is all but guaranteed.

Uber will increase its
fares by 10% in London in a bid to lure back drivers lost during the pandemic to rival ride-hailing and food delivery apps but it will continue to take a quarter of every fare in commission.

Autonomous trucking software company,
Embark, went public via a blank-check merger at a $5 billion valuation, making its 26-year-old inventor Alex Rodrigues the youngest CEO of a publicly traded company.

Electric vehicle maker Rivian hasn’t delivered many of its intriguing new pickup trucks, but on its second day as a public company saw a 22% spike in its share price that turned the relatively small, but heavily funded upstart, into the second-most valuable U.S. automaker.

A much-anticipated Phase 2b clinical trial involving psilocybin, the psychedelic ingredient in magic mushrooms, yielded promising results for Compass Pathways, a U.K.-based company that is developing a patented form of the drug combined with therapy to treat severe depression.
