Tip of the Day

Drinking lots of water isn’t a practice reserved just for hot summer days. Staying hydrated in the winter helps fight off illness and keep your skin moisturized from the inside out.

Happy Thursday! Looking for a freebie and a cup of coffee this morning? You can score a free reusable holiday cup from Starbucks today.

Also on a fun note: wondering if your favorite Thanksgiving sides are universally loved? Well if the side is packed with carbs, there’s a good chance it is.

If you’re in the Black Friday deals mood, we have a pile of beauty deals for you to check out. Not in the market for makeup? Here are two great Amazon Black Friday deals. You grab a pack of 4 Kasa smart plugs for under $25—I use these all over my house every year for Christmas lights, window candles, and other decorations. They’re rock solid. You can score some KitchenAid pot sets on a deep discount. The time of year when you do a ton of holiday cooking is a great time to upgrade your old pots and pans.

And water cooler trivia? You know we have some. How about a two-for-Thursday bit of cinema trivia. On this day in 1928, Walt Disney released the first animated film that featured sound and the iconic character Mickey Mouse, Steamboat Willie. Also on this day, in 1959, the film Ben-Hur debuted. The epic Biblical tale movie would go on to be nominated for 12 Academy Awards and win 11. The only other films that have matched that number of wins are Titanic (1998) and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2004).
