December 14, 2021

We live in an age where, unfortunately, buying a product does not mean we’re done paying for it. The latest company to jump aboard this abysmal bandwagon is Toyota, which just announced it’ll make users pay for the convenience of starting their car with their key fob.

Newer Toyota owners will soon lose this ability unless they start paying a rather steep monthly subscription cost. You’ll want to read our top story today even if you aren’t a Toyota owner to get all the details (and here’s hoping other manufacturers don’t pick up on this).

Other Highlights:

  • I reviewed Monoprice’s interesting little 27-inch gaming monitor, and I liked it.
  • FINALLY! Chromecast with Google TV gets an update, offering improvements for Dolby Vision and other quality-of-life features.
  • Speaking of “finally,” Apple made an Android app for help finding AirTags.
  • … and more, so keep on scrollin’!
