Help ensure Poem-a-Day can continue to connect readers in the year ahead

Dear Reader,

In this time of continued distance, thank you for being one of Poem-a-Day’s faithful readers.

Though we’re apart, we’ve been reading poetry together each day from our disparate locations, learning about poets whose work we hadn’t known before, experiences outside of our own, and envisioning our shared humanity.

“Poetry gives us a place to make beautiful sense out of the contradictions and the complexity of life, a place to remember beauty,” U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo reminds us.

Today, I’m asking devoted readers like you to help us continue Poem-a-Day by making a special contribution.
Poem-a-Day is the only daily series publishing new work by 260 poets each year. As a nonprofit organization, we need to raise at least $125,000 this month to pay guest editors, poets, and reach our more than 300,000 readers in the year ahead. Please help us make Poem-a-Day possible with the gift of your support

Thank you for being part of the Poem-a-Day community.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Jennifer Benka
President and Executive Director
Academy of American Poets
P.S.  In thanks for your special end-of-year support of $50 or more, I’ll be delighted to send you our 2022 Poem-a-Day Wall Calendar, featuring the poets who will serve as series editors next year. Get yours today to mark a new year full of poetry.
