Our cyberpunk future is (almost) here. LG Display just introduced a handful of new transparent OLED displays that can be used in retail stores to help get you psyched about certain products or to virtually display artwork and other information. Some will even allow users to add VFX features, like an overlay.

And despite just being concepts, their designs are just as fascinating as their implications are promising. They could easily evolve into tech we use in new vehicles, smartphones, TVs, or even beyond, with futuristic billboards, HUDs, and more. Read our top story for more. And stick with us! The Consumer Electronics Show is next week, and we’ll no doubt bring you plenty of stories futuristic tech concepts, and maybe even tech reality.

Other Highlights:

  • Did you eat way too much this past week? We did too. Maybe the FightCamp at-home boxing fitness program Sarah reviewed can make us skinny again.
  • Why repair your Tesla when you could just blow it to smithereens instead?
  • Habitat for Humanity just sold its first 3D-Printed home, and just before Christmas. That’s pretty exciting!
