Product Collective - 👈 Looking back, looking forward 👉

As we close out another year, it's worth pausing to realize all that’s happened in 2021. And to look ahead to 2022 where there is even more planned for the community we have served for the past six years.

But first – we want to thank you. At this point last year, there were so many unknowns. And let’s face it – there still are plenty! But the Product Collective community has continued to thrive over the past year. And really, we have you to thank.

Just in the past year alone…

  1. We held two Virtual editions of INDUSTRY: The Product Conference – with thousands of attendees taking part – featuring product luminaries like Lenny Rachitsky, Marty Cagan, Teresa Torres, and so many others. We even premiered a 30-minute spoken-word multimedia performance titled, “I am a Product Manager” that you’ll want to check out.
  2. We added 40 hours of product management videos to INDUSTRY On Demand. Now, there are over 136 hours of great content for product managers. It’d take you over 4 months to get through it all if you spent every working hour doing so. But you can binge as much as you want for 7 days for free, too.
  3. The podcast we co-produce, Rocketship.FM, surpassed its 500th episode this past year. We particularly enjoyed the entire Workplace Confessionals season. You can check out this episode from that season with Amanda Goetz of House of Wise here.
  4. We hosted over 30 virtual fireside chats through our INDUSTRY Interview live video Q&A chat series, which featured product leaders, bestselling authors, and influencers within our industry. In this session, Author and Coach, Dan Olsen, helps us better understand Analytics.
  5. We saw double-digit growth once again for our Product Collective newsletter – which brings you original content and the best from around the web focused on a different topic every Friday. Even Ernie Hudson of Ghostbusters fame thinks you ought to recommend the Product Collective newsletter to a friend. Plus, there are now nearly 22,000 product people sharing advice on the Product Collective Slack.
Looking ahead, we have so much more in store for the community...
  1. First, we cannot wait to get back to seeing you all in person, whether it’s for the upcoming New York Product Conference this April or at INDUSTRY: The Product Conference in September. We’ll be working hard to keep things as safe as possible while rewarding for all. Getting the gang back together is long overdue. (BTW, you can save on your pass for either conference if you register before the end of the year!)
  2. We have some new products coming your way – especially for those who have recently made the transition to product leadership (or plan to do so soon). If this is you, email mike@productcollective.com and you can be one of the first to learn about it.
  3. We’ll be holding even more INDUSTRY Interview live video Q&A chats. In fact, you can register for the first two sessions of 2022 already:
    - What PM’s Can Learn from Gaming, w/ Josh Anon of Roblox - Jan 5 - 1pm Eastern
    - Products in Entirely New Categories, w/ Ryan Spoon of Orare - Jan 19 - 1pm Eastern
  4. We also will be reimagining the Product Collective community. You’ll see us experimenting with new initiatives… engaging you even more to see how we can add even more value. We’re here for the long haul, and we want you onboard the journey in the years to come, too! Do you have any ideas? Let us know!
Again, we’re so grateful for having served the product community for the last six years… and can’t wait to see what the next six looks like. On behalf of all of us at Product Collective, thanks for being a part of this community.

Here’s to 2022!
