Happy Wednesday! As is tradition, a Hump Day camel fact to start your day. Camels are one of the few mammals that have a full nictitating membrane—a third eyelid—like many birds, reptiles, and sharks do. The third eyelid is used to protect the eye and remove sand.

On the topic of removing grit, but in a different sort of way, we have some great tips and tricks for cleaning the most overlooked spots in your home. Speaking of cleaning up, if you’re wondering when it’s time to take the Christmas tree down you might be interested to hear why it’s a tradition to keep it up until January 6th and then take it down.

And water cooler trivia? On this day in 1933 construction started on the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco. Today the bridge is easily identifiable by both its shape and its distinct International Orange color scheme. But did you know an early proposal suggested painting the entire thing with black and yellow strips to increase visibility in the foggy bay? Let’s all be thankful the bridge doesn’t have the same color scheme as the lip of a grocery store loading bay.
