January 15, 2022

LastPass is one of the most well-known password managers out there, and generally, it’s pretty well respected. So we saw reports that the company went out of its way to “accidentally” (but really on purpose?) block non-subscribers from exporting their password data; it took us by surprise.

That doesn’t seem OK at all, but when we looked into the details, we could find blind assumptions about the company’s motives. So we dug deeper to get the truth of the story. As it turns out, there IS a bug in the system. But no, LastPass isn’t actively trying to prevent people from exporting data. Check the top story for the whole scoop.

Other Highlights:

  • I bet you love ‘Wordle’ but what do you do after you solve the one puzzle a day it offers? Why you try one of these great alternatives we gathered together for you, that’s what.
  • Nope, the Nissan Leaf isn’t going anywhere. Except down in price, that is.
  • Stern makes amazing actual Pinball machines, and now they’re going online Xbox Live style.
  • Seriously? Netflix is going up in price again?
  • …and more!
