A first-of-its-kind legislation in San Jose, California, would force gun owners to pay a fee and carry liability insurance in an effort to reduce gun violence. 

Taliban officials and their supporters have carried out acts of violence—including rape and mob attacks—against LGBTQ+ people in Afghanistan “with impunity,” a new report by Human Rights Watch said.
