Three Growth Tips 🌱
1. One Twitter experiment every month
Twitter is a platter of many things - replies, DMs, good tweets, threads, connections. And if you wanna succeed you have to show up every day. In all honesty, this may be frustrating or like a chore for you.
That’s why only 0.68% of all Twitter accounts have more than 1,000 followers.
One idea to be consistent and try all “growth hacks” is to do ONE experiment every month.
You don’t have to spread yourself too thin by doing everything but only one thing for 30 days straight.
Who knows one of your experiments may end up becoming your mojo and voice.
Some mini-experiment ideas -
- One mini thread every day
- One (your niche) tip every day
- DMing one new friend every day
- Launching one small product every day
- Three tweets every day
- AMA on (your niche) every day
- Curating top threads every day
30 days is enough time for you to really experiment and fire up the algorithm. What also happens here is your audience learns your actions. They get used to seeing this from you every day and you slowly build your identity in their minds. Come to think of it, the widely successful ship 30 for 30 is also an example of this ;)
2. Your niche and content buckets + automating everything
Look, niching down is hard. What’s harder is sticking to it, sticking to what you’ve written in your bio and what the audience expects from you. You don’t wanna end up crushing under the weight of how many types of tweets you should write.
So, lemme tell you a secret.
Read your top 50 tweets.
Use this search on Twitter - “from:<yourusername> min_faves:50”
See what broad buckets they are in - Good morning tweets, self-help, shit posting, writing, making money, biz talks, marketing etc.
Choose 3 buckets you want to be known for.
We’re not choosing a hard and fast niche here, but three broad categories.
Write 30 tweets on each.
30 tips, ideas, anything.
90 tweets done. Now all you need is to schedule these 3 buckets across the week, so you tweet twice a day.
You’ve legit automated -
- showing up every day
- Niche-ing
- Providing value
Here comes my hot tip -
Instead of manually thinking and scheduling, you can use Hypefury's Recurrent posts.
Set the category of every tweet.
Add some tweets in each category. 30 will be a good number if you wanna tweet each category twice a week.
Schedule the categories.
Hypefury picks up any tweet from the category when the time comes and posts it.
Even if you forget to add more, Hypefury will repurpose them AS NEW TWEETS.
Worried about engagement? Don't. This is a screenshot of one of Rob's recurrent posts.
You can go off Twitter and it’ll still be running.
Effing magic.
3. Your first product
We’ve been sharing this newsletter for a whole year now. If you’ve followed till now, you might have a good audience base by now. Even >500 will be great.
I now suggest you to create your first product.
Why?
- To establish your niche
- To feel the power of Twitter
- To add it to your bio/portfolio
You don’t have to do anything fancy. You only have to compile what you’ve learned.
Some simple first product ideas
- A checklist (of resources, steps, tips)
- Format list (of tweets etc)
- Top __ threads/resources/books
- A simple notion template
You can then drop it on Gumroad or even on Twitter directly.
Give it away for free. It will serve as a lead magnet for future things.
People who will come to your profile will download it and you can collect their emails.
You also have a high chance of going viral if it’s a free giveaway.
An example tweet -
This might also make you your first online dollar ;)
Oh and if you think you’ll have to DM them all manually, nah nah.
We just launched our Auto DMs which will do that for you :)
Whip a notion template, ship it, write this tweet and wait for the magic to happen.
Will recommend you do it with at least 500 followers. Your tweet needs reactions in the first 60 seconds to heat up.
Two Tweet Writing Tips ✍️
1. Thread hook formats
Two threads have high chances of going viral
- The experience thread - where you share your lessons
- Curated thread - where you share top resources (podcasts, tweets, threads)
The chances of your thread going viral is heavily dependent on your hook.
You only have 2 seconds to grab someone’s attention so it better be a good one.
Here are some hook formulas for each of them -
The experience thread -
“I have [years] of experience and done [number] [market term of your work]
Here are [number] lessons/mistakes/tips to [good outcome] ”

|
The curated thread -
“If you do it right, [niche] will [great outcome]
But 96% of people suck at it.
Here are [number] [resource] that will make you smarter”
You can start with a bold statement as well, like the example here.

2. Memes
I know it’s not a tweet writing tip :p but you can’t deny the power of good memes.
They make you go “lol that’s me”, are funny, entertaining, and will make people respond.
Be it your startup brand or personal brand, memes can take your name to the moon.
Dagobert has used funny and highly relatable startup memes to get the first customers for his startup logology.

- A list of pain points in your niche
- Templates
Criss-cross them and you’re good to go.
You can find meme-able templates on Instagram, Pinterest and Reddit.
You can use Kapwing, meme generator and canva to make them.
