The DO Lectures - Busy Doesn't Work.

If your days are anything like mine…

Time is not a friend.

And because I run two businesses, write books, give keynote talks, run events etc., it can quickly feel like…grr.

With two companies, DOUBLY SO.

I had to figure something out. Or burn out.

Plus…

One of my key success metrics for myself is to ENJOY THE RIDE.

Uncomfortable truth.

I used to think the only way to grow my business was to work longer.

But what I really grew was my tiredness, my stress levels, and my DAILY visits to overwhelm.

I QUIT BUSY.

Instead, I created a simple, dependable easy to follow system for the team and me.

Just for internal use.

I called it ‘Lazy Discipline.’

I am one of the laziest people I know.

I am one of the most disciplined people I know.

I needed a system that could work with my flaws as well as my strengths.

It was our internal way to create content that would grow our business without really trying.

Every Wednesday morning, we have our Creative Breakfast meeting. 20 mins. MAX.

The team share one thing that got their attention. That gets saved into our system.

The content shared in that meeting builds two weekly newsletters.

It keeps Twitter fed, too.

Plus, at the end of the year, when we go to build our ANNUAL lists like Makers+Mavericks, 80% of the work is ALREADY done.

REPEAT: ALREADY DONE.

Because we had been finding Makers+Mavericks every week throughout the year.

Putting those huge lists together is EASY.

And QUICK. And FUN.

Who knew ONE meeting could do all that?

When I look back, I can now see that my BUSY was LAZINESS.

But at the time, I didn’t think there was another way.

Creating content for social media can be easy…instead of consuming your every working minute.

Your organic posts will take as little as 10 minutes a day.

They will go from informational to transformational because you have learned the power of emotion.
