Newsletter Shifts Over To Podcast: Swords Of DepressionThis will happen starting January 28th, 2022Hello everyone, I am writing to give you a heads up about some shifts with this newsletter. From Thursdays, January 28th, 2022, and forward, this newsletter will host the Swords of Depression podcast in addition to a transcribed version. What Is Swords Of Depression? If you struggle with mental illness of any kind, and/or you are a mental health advocate with an open mind, then you will like this podcast. You will like it even more if you like the tarot, and even if you don’t know much about it but have an interest in it, it will draw your interest. Mental illnesses for the longest time have been full of stigmas, whereas people believed those with depression to as weak and negative by choice. Those who struggled with anxiety were thought to be over-reacting all of the time and needed to calm down. Those who have trauma-related disorders such as PTSD (except Veterans) and C-PTSD have always been believed to be snowflakes. Those are just a few examples right there. Even though there is more awareness and acceptance of mental illnesses, the stigma is still too robust, which means more advocacy needs to happen. That is how I can help. How Do Tarot Cards Play A Role In Mental Health?Tarot cards are not a cure by any means for mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, but they can help those who struggle to find the insight they need, which can help them when it comes to self-reflection, according to Healthline. Tarot can speak to your soul and can create a dialogue that opens more avenues for self-reflection and insight, and it can also complement therapy. However, tarot does not replace treatment and any prescribed therapies, and if you are not a believer, it will not work for you. Therefore, Swords of Depression will go over some harsh truths about mental illness and my experiences with it. Some things might trigger those who have had trauma, so it is best to be aware of that. However, those who want to explore their inner-soul more will take that chance. There will be storytelling with this podcast, which will happen more as I go over the meanings of each card. That will bring more insight. I hope eventually to do interviews with those in similar fields. However, more than anything, those who struggle with mental health issues will find this podcast very validating to show that they are not alone, which is essential. What To Expect Initially With Swords Of DepressionThe first episode will be my introduction which will be on the 28th. Then on the 29th and 30th of the month, there will be two other episodes delving further into the podcast before going into the meanings of each card and how they represent mental health, and the tips to utilize when it comes to the meaning of the cards. Then on February 3rd, 2022, you will hear the individual's story that will be relevant to the meanings of the cards. Then starting February 8th, I will go over the Fool, which is the first card in the Major Arcana of the tarot (listed as card 0), and the next one, the Magician, will be discussed on the 10th. Then you will have a show every Tuesday and Thursday unless there is a schedule change. I am looking forward to having you on board with me, and if this podcast is not going to be for you, I understand! No hard feelings at all! I will check in with you again on Thursday if you are on board with me! You’re a free subscriber to Miriam Reads Tarot . For the full experience, become a paid subscriber. |
