• That’s right, in addition to our regular four-times weekly sports news email, starting on Monday, February 28th, we’ll be sending out a three-times weekly sports business newsletter. New year, more GIST, baby.

❓ The why

Before we dive into what’s to come, here’s why we decided to venture into this new space. We started The GIST to help level the playing field in sports, and hope to do the same for sports business.

• With less than 4% of sports coverage focused on female athletes, even less covers the business side of women’s sports. Our newsletter will be one of the few centralized places to receive updates on this ever-growing industry. We hope you’ll join us.

Once you sign up, you’ll receive emails with all the sports biz info you need to know three times a week. We’ll focus on the business-related news (and people!) of the women’s sports world, but, in true GIST fashion, we’ll also cover major happenings on the business side of men’s sports (and discuss their impact on female athletes).

Meet Pardeep Cattry, our sports biz newsletter writer. Pardeep is based in New York and comes to The GIST after primarily covering women’s soccer, along with the intersection of sports and social issues. She can't wait to kick it with you.

Thank you so much for believing in The GIST thus far. We started as a three-woman-band with a “crazy” idea to make sports more inclusive and fun by providing equal coverage and centering diverse voices. A team of 25 women and a community of 700,000 GISTers later, and we’re ready to get down to business!
