The unemployment rate dropped two-tenths of a percentage point to 3.8% last month, the lowest level since February 2020. The labor force participation rate, or the proportion of working-age Americans who have a job or are looking for one, increased to 62.3%. Men accounted for the increase, with 479,000 entering the labor force, while 48,000 women left.
    ...
A survey of establishments showed nonfarm payrolls jumped by 678,000 jobs last month, leaving employment 2.1 million jobs below its pre-pandemic level. Economists expect all the lost jobs will be recouped by the third quarter of this year. Though average hourly earnings were flat last month, that was because of the return of workers in lower-paying industries and a calendar bias.
    ...
The number of people working part-time for economic reasons shot up 418,000. That lifted a measure of unemployment, which includes people who want to work but have given up searching and those working part-time because they cannot find full-time employment, to 7.2% from 7.1%.

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

Yes - Obviously the element of surprise is beneficial for the safer execution for law enforcement, but their right to safety doesn't supersede your civil rights as an American citizen. You have a constitutional right to keep and bear arms to protect you and your home as well as a right to not have unreasonable search and seizure. [...] I truly would be OK with them if there was a much higher burden to obtain them and only used in the most extreme cases, unfortunately Minneapolis has showed us that decision can't be left to law enforcement, or a judge rubber stamping away civil rights.
