Pixabay: ImNotHim The Wheel of Fortune is one of the Major Arcana in a Tarot deck. It is numbered ten and is often considered a sign of good luck. The tarot card depicts a wheel with four horses attached to it, galloping in opposite directions. A human figure is seen in the center of the wheel, seemingly being thrown about by the force of the horses. The Wheel of Fortune tarot card is all about change and opportunity. It can represent good and bad luck and signify that big changes are on the horizon. Whether it is good or, bad luck depends on the surrounding cards in the reading. This tarot card often appears when you're going through a time of upheaval or change, and it's a message from the universe that you should go with the flow and embrace the new opportunities that come your way. It is also a good card to see if things have been stagnant for a while, and it is a sign that things are finally changing the course. The Wheel of Fortune tarot card is also associated with destiny and fate, so it might be a sign that you're on the right track in your life or that your future is looking bright. So keep your eyes open for new possibilities! The Symbolism In The Wheel Of FortuneIf you have the tarot card in front of you, you will see that the outer circle of the wheel is the Egyptian God Typhon which is on the left side, and that is a snake. That snake represents the material world, considered an evil snake. On the right side, an Egyptian God, Anubis, escorts souls to the underworld as the God of the dead. However, on the top of the wheel is the Sphynx. The Sphynx is all about strength and knowledge. And if you look at the four corners, you will see creatures with wings that associate with the fixed zodiac signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. The purpose of these creatures is to represent stability while changes are happening. Therefore, this is a card that represents how change is inevitable. As mentioned, this card usually means that your luck will change for the better. However, that all depends on the spread and the surrounding cards. Let's now talk further about what this card means in a reading. What Would The Wheel Of Fortune Mean To You If You See The Card In A Reading? If you're asking yourself what the Wheel of Fortune tarot card means for you, here are a few things to keep in mind: The Wheel of Fortune tarot card is all about change and opportunity, so if you're going through a time of upheaval, this card might be a sign that things will get better. The tarot card often appears when you're on the right track in your life, so it might be a sign that things are going well for you. Additionally, it is associated with destiny and fate, so it might be a sign that you're on the right path in your life. By the way, this card is also known as the wheel of karma because you have to remember that what goes around always comes around. Sometimes it does not take long for that to happen, or it may not happen for another lifetime. But eventually, your deeds catch up with you. The Wheel of Fortune tarot card can also represent good or bad luck, so be prepared for both possibilities. You will want to keep your eyes open for new opportunities and embrace the change that comes your way. And there is always something that triggers the change. Always. And being self-reflective, indicated by the card before this one, the Hermit can be the cause for the change represented by the Wheel of Fortune because you have to remember that a change in events or a situation does not happen for no reason. Something causes it. For example, I walked around for decades, not realizing how much trauma I had carried, as I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder and not a trauma-related disorder. However, meds never worked for me, and I have been to numerous therapists, and some were helpful, others not so much. Unfortunately, the helpful ones ended up not working out in the end for one reason or another. But here is the turning point for me to take such a revelation was when I was stuck at home during the COVID-19 lockdowns in early 2021, and when I made those revelations, it wasn't lovely. But it had to be done to learn to process it and develop skills to cope and manage. By the way, I do not like the term "healing from trauma." But unfortunately, that term gets thrown around in the trauma communities left, center, and right. If you disagree with me, no problem, I happen to be very big into semantics. Yes, you get better if you aim to do so, and you can only learn to develop skills to cope and manage trauma after processing it. And I do get that you can rewire your brain, but I think of the term healing as a physical nature, not when it comes to your mental or emotional health. You can definitely thrive and do great while living with trauma or any mental illness, but I don't think the term healing is inappropriate. But hey, that is me. And I am the one who is very picky with semantics. But aside from that, that is one personal example of the Wheel of Fortune. So now, how does this card apply to Risa's life? Well, you can say that her getting married and having a child applies, but that would apply to anyone who chooses that path. But here is the thing. Risa has not taken the time to process her trauma, and if she did, she would have to face some changes. Therefore, she is stagnant with her mental health, which also means that her physical health suffers. What will it take for this card to apply to her life? She will have to have a Tower moment, and I will discuss that card in detail at a much later time. You probably know it represents the destruction of the old so the new can come in. That is what often happens to those who resist change. And that is likely what Risa is looking at. Does she represent the Wheel of Fortune in reverse? Let's talk more about that. Wheel Of Fortune In ReverseWhen the Wheel of Fortune comes up in reverse, it can indicate bad luck or misfortune, resistance to change, a mishap, or a setback that no one did not predict. It boils down to disappointment. Therefore, that describes Risa's situation in a nutshell. She refuses to make any changes and to be self-reflective. She has had one mishap after another, and her life is full of misfortunes, but unfortunately, she doesn't help that. Until she realizes that she can change her luck for the better by having the strength to say "no" and firm up her boundaries, her luck will never get better. Yes, she was dealt a very stressful and unfortunate hand, but the thing that I have learned is that you have to play your cards right no matter what type of hand you were dealt. As a result, I was able to get my son into a 24/7 therapeutic environment which was the very thing that broke me out of my echoism because that was one of the most difficult things I had to do. But he is thriving and happy, and I have had to work on myself and give my daughter and my work more attention too. I had learned to say "no," and I have firmed up my boundaries. If Risa could do that, then she would have much better luck! The next card I will go over will be Justice.
