Challenges of Product Leadership
Depending on how you look at it, Product Leaders get the best (or worst) of both worlds. They still are somewhat involved in the excitement and challenges of making a difference through introducing new products. On top of that, they get the opportunity to lead people which brings the fulfillment of helping people grow in their careers, and the challenges that come along with that. The good news is those challenges are not insurmountable as these resources explain.

Telling some Web3 Stories
I can’t recall the exact day it was a few months back, but there was a day where Web3 just completely took over my timeline. Everything I read was about the “Best Web3 Investors” or the “Top Web3 Companies to Break out.” Of course, Web3 wasn’t really completely new. But for me, personally, it was that day where it just sort of… took over.
Earlier this week, Rocketship.FM – the podcast that I’ve co-hosted since 2016 telling stories that sit at the intersection of business and tech – kicked off its 12th season. And I think it’s fitting that this new season is dedicated to telling some of today’s Web3 stories.
Throughout the season, you’ll find that I end up getting personally involved in some of these stories. From making my way to Beverly Hills to attend an NFT party with microphone-in-hand… to personally making a run at trying to land one of the hottest 1-of-1 sports NFT’s to have ever launched… I maybe got a little in over my head this season. And you’ll get to hear all about it.
It’s not the first time we’ve told some Web3 stories. Just this past season, we told the fast-changing story of the ConstitutionDAO, a group formed to purchase an original copy of the U.S. Constitution… but ended up creating one of the hottest memecoins. So if you liked that episode, you’ll probably like this new season.
Speaking of Web3, though – did you hear how the creators of the Frosties NFT “rug pull” got arrested for defrauding their community for over $1M? That happened just this past week. It wasn’t originally on our list of episodes for this year, but… maybe it should be?
See you later this season all of you Bored Apes and Cool Cats.

Product Leadership Beyond Managing Product Managers When you move into a Product Leader role, it’s important to realize that you’re going to be doing a lot of different things, and few of those deal with managing products. In this episode of the Product Manager Hub podcast, Rich Mironov explains the main sets of challenges for Product Leaders that are different from managing individual products and how to tackle each.

The challenges of leading as a Product Manager. In most digital companies, the Product Manager works together with a multi-function team to prioritize, plan, and deliver products and features. However, this team doesn't report to the PM, each team member reports to their own boss. This structure means that Product Managers face a different set of product leadership challenges surrounding having to lead through influence. Thiago Paiva takes a look at those challenges and suggests some ways to address them.

Top 7 challenges IT leaders will face in 2022. The hurdles IT leaders will face in 2022 at first glance seem familiar: finding and retaining top talent, bolstering security, and creating friendly and robust remote work environments. But the ongoing pandemic has heightened these challenges. It also just so happens that many of the challenges IT leaders face impact Product Leaders as well. With that in mind, here's Paul Heltzel’s review of 7 challenges that IT leaders - and Product Leaders - will face in 2022.
