Poem-a-Day - What Poem-a-Day does for us as readers

Dear Reader,

“Poetry tends to the small and necessary elements of experience and observation that might have gone unnoticed,” the poet and guest editor of Poem-a-Day this April, Naomi Shihab Nye, said recently.

This is what Poem-a-Day does—it offers an opportunity to reflect and contemplate, and to learn something about ourselves and one another.

But we can’t share poems without your help.

As we begin National Poetry Month, I’m asking you, as someone who has made the choice to begin your day with poetry, to please support this important series with a special contribution.
Poem-a-Day is the only publication sharing new work by more than 250 of today’s talented poets, for free, with 315,000 readers from every state and beyond.

This April, we need to raise at least $100,000 from readers like you to sustain and grow Poem-a-Day, enabling us to introduce you each morning to a new voice or a gem from poetry’s past.

Thank you for reading and supporting Poem-a-Day.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Jennifer Benka
