⚠️ Tomorrow is April Fools’ Day

Just a friendly reminder: Tomorrow is April Fools’ Day. News websites and social media will be full of fake headlines, so keep an eye out. Be extra skeptical of everything you see for the next 48 hours or so.

April Fools’ Day is weird in tech. Sometimes, announcements made on April Fools’ Day are even real. Google actually announced Gmail on April 1, 2004. Many people didn’t believe it at the time: Really, Google is just going to give everyone 1 GB of email storage space for free? But it was real.

However, most of the crazy announcements you see tomorrow will almost certainly not be real. Personally, I’m setting a smartphone reminder for tomorrow morning so I know it’s April Fools’ Day as soon as I get out of bed.
