From Pxhere: Nikolay Kondev The Tower tarot card is one of the most well-known and widely recognized. It is often associated with significant life changes, upheaval, and chaos. The Tower itself symbolizes strength and stability and destruction and chaos. This card can represent both positive and negative aspects of change, depending on the context in which it is drawn. Let's go over the history of the Tower. The History And Appearance Of The Tower Tarot CardThe Tower first appeared in tarot decks in the 15th century and has been a part of tarot ever since. The Tower is usually depicted as a tall, imposing structure, with a few people falling from the top. This image is often interpreted as a symbol of the dangers of ambition or hubris. That is in almost all tarot decks, but with the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, the Tower tarot card shows the lightning striking the Tower on top of the mountain, and two people jump from the windows as their heads come out first, stretching their arms. The Tower is a substantial building, but the thing is, since it was built on an unstable foundation, one lightning bolt is enough to take it down, which means that the goals you were setting were not made for legitimate reasons. The lightning is the thing that causes you to become enlightened, which is what it symbolizes on this card. Now you know why this card appears the way it does. Now, let's talk about what it means if you get the Tower tarot card in a reading. What It Means If You Get The Tower Tarot Card In A ReadingYou can interpret the tower card in several ways, but one of the most common interpretations is that it represents a time of change. This change can be external, like a significant life event, or internal, like a shift in your belief system. The Tower card often appears when we are going through an effective transition in our lives. This transition can be positive or negative, but it is likely to be a time of upheaval. It can be a time when you are forced to let go of things you thought were stable and secure. It can be when you can let go of outdated beliefs or patterns that no longer serve you. The Tower can also be a symbol of protection, offering a haven during times of turmoil. That all depends on the nature of the spread or the cards surrounding it. Think about COVID-19. In 2019, no one would have ever imagined that 2020 would be a Tower year. People went about their business and assumed things would keep going the way they were. Then suddenly, around the New Year, there was news about a dangerous respiratory virus that no one knew about circulating in China. However, there were concerns at that time, but no one was too worried. We had SARS and MERS outbreaks that happened in the past, which did not turn into pandemics. But in February of that year, the Coronavirus was spreading worldwide, and the WHO declared the pandemic in March of 2020.
Restaurants had to close up except for takeout, museums closed, movie theatres closed, nightclubs closed, and schools closed! The economy shut down, and children were stuck at home and confused, not understanding why the school was no longer happening. Everyone had to distance themselves socially, and everyone was stuck at home. Anytime anyone had to run necessary errands such as grocery shopping or going to the doctor, they had to be extremely careful and scrub their hands when coming home. Everyone was hoarding toilet paper. Who would have imagined that in 2019? The pandemic came on like the Tower! That is one example anyone can come up with when thinking of the Tower. There are plenty of examples there, but the one thing that immediately comes to my mind is that she bottles up her emotions so much that something can cause her to explode, and she does it unexpectedly and to the point that it is scary. Someone like that who has a personality where they are quiet and does not stand up for themselves would not be the one who would be expected to blow up in a way that is shocking like that. And when it happens, watch out. As mentioned in the introductory post about Risa Green, she suspects that she could potentially have diabetes since she is always thirsty and is obese and full of cortisol from all of her stress. What would happen if she had a reason to go to the hospital, such as breaking a bone, and she learns that her unhealthy habits caused her to become diabetic based on blood work? What if she were to have a heart attack suddenly? Those are sure examples of the Tower. The scary thing is, that those scenarios can happen to anyone. There are so many other examples of Tower situations that I will not go over because that would take forever. But what about the Tower in reverse? What does that look like? Tower In ReverseThe Tower in reverse does not have positive meanings as the Devil in reverse does. In fact, the Tower in reverse can indicate losses, obstacles making a messy situation messier, and illnesses. Therefore, that can also represent what Risa is facing and what she likely will face—and the COVID-19 example. Unfortunately, many who have suffered in irreparable ways through the pandemic face the Tower in reverse. Many of those include people who have contracted the virus and ended up with long COVID symptoms. As a result, many of those people no longer could work. However, with the Tower in reverse, the silver lining is dimmer. All of it will cause trama, unfortunately. But, aside from that, the Tower upright does not always represent doom and gloom, so you will want to use this card in your life. How Can You Apply The Tower In Your LifeThe best way to apply this card in your life is through transformations that you want to make. If you wish to get healthier or change some habits, the more you look at the bad habits, you will see the cracks within them that can bring you down. For example, if you have not been taking care of your health and have not been eating the healthiest foods and not getting much exercise, you can prevent problems by taking care of them before it gets to that point. That means creating a health-conscious plan of eating healthy foods in moderation and getting a half-hour of exercise in a day. And you can build upon that. Eventually, it will add up and cover an unexpected expense that could come your way. Imagine not having the saved funds to cover that at all! That is what you want to avoid. So you get the idea. The next card I will go over is the Star, a card of hope that follows the shock that comes with the Tower. You’re a free subscriber to Miriam Reads Tarot .
