“What is meant for you will not pass you by.”

Artist, educator, and activist Nina Elizabeth Lyrispect Ball has some advice for you. Opening with an explosive spoken word poem, she shares gems of creative wisdom with CreativeMornings/Philadelphia, including showing up, no matter the size of the audience, and giving back to your community. Through practice and research, Lyrispect explores what creative expression can mean to young people of color uncovering their identities, their selves, and their place in the world. This animates her wide-ranging work across writing and performing, developing public art and engagement programs, and curating exhibitions to give artists like herself the spotlight. Listen to Lyrispect’s potent words and step into your fullness.
