Jen “Odd” Glantz here! I’ve been spending too much time watching the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial. Their relationship was so toxic and complicated. It’s impossible to stop watching. While tuned into the testimony, I noticed just how many staff members they have and mention throughout the case, from security to full-time nurses, stylists to personal assistants. Which made me realize, hmmmmm, certainly an odd job, or at least an odd way to live your life, would be to work for a celebrity. I have a friend who used to be a personal assistant for an A-list celeb and said it was a super tough (and miserable-ish job). Sure, she traveled to all these places and saw the behind the scenes of so many things, the job meant being ON 24/7 and also having to take care of super odd and semi-impossible requests. But if you’re the kind of person who loves a challenge or you love the life celebrities live, let’s dive into some odd ways you can get paid to work for them.

Personal AssistantA lot of celebrities get their personal assistants through friends, family, or recommendations. But there are always postings out there for people who want to apply for these jobs. Sometimes you don’t even know what celeb you’re applying to work for. The salaries of Celebrity Personal Assistants in the US range from $10,032 to $254,999 , with a median salary of $45,861. Celebrity StylistIf fashion is your thing, pulling together a portfolio of clients you’ve worked with and good networking could land you a gig as a celebrity stylist. Based on experience and the celeb you’re working with, you could earn $60k to over $100k. PublicistDoing communications and PR for brands and businesses is a great way to experience before becoming a celeb publicist. You could make $100k+ with this job and be in charge of all the press and media for your favorite celebrity. SecuritySome celebs (like the Kardashians and Justin Bieber) have a full-time security team that go with them everywhere. If you have experience working at a club as a bouncer or have had jobs in any kind of security role, you could land a gig working for a celeb and going everywhere with them .
