Story Cauldron - The Great Substack Story Challenge
Thanks for reading Story Cauldron, where I investigate stories and storytelling. If you enjoy what you’re reading, please consider sharing this newsletter with a friend. The Great Substack Story ChallengeStory Cauldron is participating in an epic storytelling experience!Welcome to The Great Substack Story Challenge! I’m going to be participating in a great storytelling adventure. Thirteen of us will be writing a story one chapter at a time. What will the story be about? Who knows? Will there be mystery, murders, or magic? Your guess is as good as mine. (Okay, let’s be real. There will almost certainly be magic at least the week I’m contributing!) I’ll be posting my chapter here on Story Cauldron, but you won’t just want to read mine. To start at the beginning, subscribe to Arjun Agarwal’s newsletter before May 21. Then subscribe or visit each of the others in turn (everyone’s links are on the Fictionistas Substack). I’ll also be posting updates here so you can follow along. I’m super excited about participating. For the longest time, I’ve been wanting to do one of these round-robin, or Exquisite Corpse, types of projects. I can’t wait to see what kind of hot mess the thirteen of us come up with, but knowing the work of many of the writers, I guarantee it will be interesting and hilarious. And this seems obvious, but if you haven’t already subscribed to Story Cauldron, now’s your chance! You’re on the free list for Story Cauldron. For the full experience and to be the first in the world to read my next novel, consider becoming a paying subscriber. |
