Today, in our mission to help more startups get acquired, we’ve launched the world’s first guided acquisition process (GAP). 

Nine months in the making, GAP merges every step of an acquisition process into one streamlined and standardized workflow. No juggling systems or drowning in resources. Just one clear path to close. 

It was a big, messy knot to untie, but with the launch of GAP, we hope you can now embrace acquisitions with confidence as stepping stones to bigger, better things in your career.

What Is the Guided Acquisition Process?

The guided acquisition process (GAP) unifies the acquisition experience. From fielding inquiries to closing escrow, you manage every step of the acquisition from a single dashboard. You can draft and sign legal documents, chat with buyers, and engage advisors without leaving GAP.

GAP also acts as a virtual M&A guide that coaches and mentors you through your acquisition. Rather than studying a library of resources to learn how to close, GAP provides the relevant templates and tutorials when you need them, saving you time and reducing your workload.

Why Did We Introduce it?

Our mission is to help more startups get acquired. Trust, security, and transparency are critical to achieving this goal. GAP rebuilds the acquisition process from these first principles, giving entrepreneurs the confidence to enter into acquisition transactions that can and do change lives. 

Entrepreneurship has long been the backbone of the global economy. The easier we make that process, which can involve many exits, the more diverse and resilient economies become. We hope that standardizing acquisitions with GAP helps more entrepreneurs achieve their goals.

Profiles: find your ideal startup or buyer faster than ever

The more you tell us about yourself and your goals, the easier it is to match you with startups or buyers (and the faster your acquisition). As a result, we’ve added more fields to your profile to help you identify the best prospects before sending the first message. 

You’ll need to complete your profile before listing or contacting founders, but the few minutes of extra work could save you hours of wasted conversations later. We believe the extra transparency and detail will shorten your journey to a life-changing exit (or acquisition).

Build Trust with the Verified Badge

Whether you’re acquiring or selling a startup, you only want to discuss an acquisition with someone you know and trust. We’ve updated your profile to include email and identity verification as standard. When you complete these steps, you get the Verified badge. 

The Verified badge proves to others that you’re a legitimate participant in the marketplace. It doesn’t replace proper vetting and due diligence, but it does reassure people that you are who you say you are. More people will interact with you once you get the Verified badge on your profile.
