1 - 1: Expanding Bootstrap colors, Create solutions not problems
Hey - It's Wes. I just got back from a 5 day vacation with my family. I basically went cold turkey on content creation for those 5 days so I'm biting at the bit to share this newsletter with you! Webdev TipExpanding the Boostrap CSS color paletteYour probably familiar with the default colors that come with Bootstrap CSS. But did you know you there are over 100 other colors at your disposal with a little setup? You can edit the scss/_variables.scss file that comes with your bootstrap library to include these classes or custom colors. Now you can use text or backgrounds classes with these custom colors. You can find all of the colors listed here. Freelancing TipCreate Solutions, Not ProblemsMost experienced freelancers will suggest building small business sites with Wordpress. Why?
I would push back on this suggestion with a couple of questions:
The answer to both of those questions is no. So... are you really creating a solution here? Or another problem? Small businesses have small business needs. Website content is rarely updated. They also want to focus on their business, not updating their site. I'd suggest for freelancers to build static sites. Charge a monthly subscription for hosting and updating content on the site for the business owner. You gain a near passive income stream. The business owner doesn't have to deal with the stress of updating their own site. That's a solution! |
