January 6 hearing: Liz Cheney teases bombshells to come as first hearing comes to a close. [Read free here]

The House committee kicked off its first Jan. 6 hearing with a primetime TV event, the first of six televised hearings revealing the panel’s findings into the 2021 Capitol attack. The nine-member group has gathered more than 1,000 depositions and countless documents.
    ...
As rioters stormed the Capitol, then-President Trump grew angry with advisors pleading with him to do something, Vice Chairwoman Liz Cheney said. Aware of the rioters’ chants to “hang Mike Pence,” the President responded with this, Cheney, a Republican, said: “Well, maybe our supporters have the right idea. Mike Pence, quote, ‘deserves it’.”
    ...
The revelation was just one of the allegations that Cheney said the committee will corroborate during subsequent hearings to prove a coordinated effort to stop certification of the 2020 presidential election and keep Trump in office. Cheney said the panel will also reveal evidence that multiple Republican members of Congress sought pardons after Jan. 6 for their roles leading to that day.
