With Node.js, Ryan Dahl showed the world how useful JavaScript outside the browser can be. Deno is the extension of this idea. Deno is a runtime for JavaScript, TypeScript, and WebAssembly based on Rust and the V8 JavaScript engine.

The Deno stack is built to improve local development and system APIs. With money in the bank from their Series A, the team plans to build out their Deno Deploy, their commercial offering: a modern user-friendly, serverless-at-edge system.
