A former physical therapist and current strength coach, podcast host Scott Iardella focuses on kettle bell training, mobility work, powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting. His science-backed approach stresses actionable training advice with the goal of helping people “take control of their health and fitness through a foundation of strength and improved human movement.” ReadThe Sit-Up is Over. In this piece from The Atlantic, Amanda Mull explores the demise of the sit-up and discusses the work of Stuart McGill, a Canadian biomechanics researcher who changed how fitness experts thought about exercise. His findings, she writes, “showed that sit-ups and crunches weren’t just mediocre strength-building moves; they were actually hurting lots of people.” *ReplayThe Replay photo never made it into Tuesday’s newsletter and while I’d like to blame it on a technical glitch, it was entirely user error.
