Hello and welcome to another exciting edition of the Spotify Newsletter.

Issue #116 is chock-a-block, I must say, featuring a good variety of Spotify News.

The ‘Supergrouper’ debut appears to be the ‘big’ news of the week, ready to help you create the group of your dreams, with up to five artists you think would mix well together. I just might have to give it a spin.

A few weeks ago Spotify Pie was the hot, new thing - the latest viral website that analyzes your Spotify data. I never did hop aboard that train.

Amid all the news stories, this one was cool to read about:

Thoughtworks developers were invited to join Spotify’s annual Hack Week 2022 focused on projects and initiatives that “Make the Planet Cooler.” In support of that theme, the Thoughtworks and Spotify teams partnered to build a Cloud Carbon Footprint plugin for Backstage, an open platform for building developer portals built by Spotify and donated to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.

I’d love to spend a day with the Spotify developers, dig down into the heart of the operation and see what’s shakin’ under the hood (if you will).

🔥 Mariah Carey’s Iconic Songwriting Credits Spotlighted by Spotify

Newly inducted Songwriters Hall of Fame honoree Mariah Carey is getting her very own Spotify Songwriter Page, the streaming service tells Billboard. As with all such pages on the platform, Carey’s will feature a “Written By” playlist of her songs.
Spotify launched Songwriter Pages in February 2020 in an effort to promote and highlight hitmakers on the platform.
