I recently talked to Dharmesh Shah (billionaire founder of Hubspot) and he shared his framework of “circles of success”

Imagine a giant whiteboard with all humans on there (~7B)

Now let’s say I’m top ~1% in the world at copywriting. So draw a circle around those people.

But maybe I’m also great at “knowledge about cryptocurrency”. Draw a circle around those people.

The overlap = people who are great at copywriting AND know a lot about crypto. We took two niche things, and combined them. The overlap is very small. Maybe 1 in a billion.

Now one last circle: “people who have the guts/self-belief to go build a company around it” and now it’s just like 5 people on the planet.

Pretty cool right? You’re not competing with the world, you’re competing with those 5 people (oh and multiple people can win!)

BTW - I’m not talking hypothetically. This isn’t just motivational mumbo jumbo. We actually did this and it’s working.

This is amazing. A guy trained artificial intelligence to write in my writing style. You can type in any subject (eg: “how to pickup girls”) and it spits out an auto-generated twitter thread hahaha 🤯

I don’t know if I should be scared or impressed! Probably both!
