Being in Barcelona has been some of the most peaceful and enjoyable times I’ve had all year. 

The biggest difference has been just focusing on one day at a time. Depression is worrying about the past and fear is worrying about the future, but focusing on enjoying the day in front of me = bliss.

🎧 New Business vs. Old Business

Podcast listener Jason Thompson asked me a great question in my last Q&A episode…

“What is your advice on knowing when to continue to create new businesses vs. focusing on your main business?”

99% of the time, you should focus on your main business.

There’s usually a lot more meat on the bone of your existing business – so get the most out of it. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking your next business will be bigger or better.

I tried starting 10 other companies after I started AppSumo, and guess what? If I focused 100% on AppSumo, it would be even BIGGER than it is today.

Do more with what you already have. Put more into what’s already working for your existing business.

🦏 Stan Efferding

Stan "The White Rhino" Efferding is a bodybuilder and powerlifter.

This guy is a machine. He’s a world record holder and squatted over 900 lbs. But what stuck with me is how simple his approach is.

He doesn’t do crazy things to get strong. He just eats well, sleeps well, and trains well. 

This video reminded me to focus on the basics:

• Eat real whole foods: They’re perfectly designed to fuel us just as they are
• Get good-quality sleep: Sleep loss = mental and physical performance loss
• Train consistently: Training isn’t just about what you do in the gym, it’s about what you do outside of the gym too.

💰 Side Hustle Syndrome

I encourage you NOT to quit your job when starting a business.

Keep it as a side hustle for as long as you can. Anyone who tells you that working on it full-time is the only way to be successful is selling you a risk they were foolish enough to take.

You can still get big rewards without taking big risks.
