[Crew Review] Why we call it the Cockroach Method

EcomCrew Premium Is Open

Finding the perfect product to sell on Amazon has become impossible—at least without running into endless competition in every category. However, EcomCrew Premium has developed an unglamorous but effective profitable strategy for profitable products in places where no one else is looking: The Cockroach Method.

Until tomorrow only, we’re accepting signups to Premium, which grants you access to our entire module on the Cockroach Theory, up-to-date ecommerce courses, expert-led webinars, and unlimited email support from two successful sellers with decades of ecommerce experience between them.

Why Premium?

Amazon has sued over 10,000 Facebook group administrators for allegedly brokering fake reviews for Amazon products. Fake reviews have plagued the marketplace for years, and this suit could be a significant win for third-party sellers on the platform.

Here’s why it’s a big deal.

Amazon Top Terms

We’re looking back in time to find out which Amazon top terms had a drastic increase in search history from July 3rd to July 16th. Let’s discover what happened on Amazon during Prime Day week!

Taking the #3 spot in today's top movers list and getting more sales than ever is “salesaholic facebook group.” Sales-aholic.com is an Amazon affiliate under the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an advertising program that helps affiliates earn commissions by advertising and linking to the retailer through Facebook groups and similar platforms.

Admins and moderators inundate these groups with links to discounted items and promo codes, sometimes on an hourly basis.

One of the most clicked ASINs based on this search term has gone from selling 56 units per day to 565 units per day in just one day. Interestingly, the second most clicked ASIN was the Amazon Echo Dot.

Amazon to Axe Its Private Label Business

Amazon could soon be saying goodbye to its own private label brands, including Amazon Basics and Solimo, as The Wall Street Journal reports that it’s been slowly slashing its private label selection due to poor sales.

According to WSJ, however, weak sales may not be the only issue, as Amazon executives have also broached the idea of exiting its private label business entirely to appease regulators.

This news comes as Amazon is offering to share marketplace data with third-party sellers to lessen pressure from UK regulators, who have launched a probe into the company's use of such data to develop products and give its own brands preference to win the Buy Box.

Ecommerce Aggregator Funding Evaporates

Not too long ago, ecommerce aggregators or rollups were all the rage, but a report from Insider reveals that aggregators have been pivoting away from gobbling up small Amazon businesses as a business model over lower ecommerce volumes and uncertainty in the macro environment.

Our own research shows that most aggregators remain optimistic post pandemic, but the cooling market means this 'gold rush' might be coming to and end soon.

Etsy Launches New Seller App

Craft and vintage products marketplace Etsy is revamping its mobile app to make it easier to sell products on its platform.

Some of the new features, which are also the most requested by sellers, are:

  • The ability to check order status and get important insights at-a-glance, such as whether they have a repeat customer.
  • Adding photos and listing videos directly from their mobile device.
  • Having access to order details when messaging a buyer and utilizing saved replies to respond quickly to common questions.
  • Purchasing and printing shipping labels via the app.
  • Managing their inventory and having access to detailed insights about their Etsy shop’s performance.

The original Sell on Etsy app will still be available until the end of the year, as the ecommerce company wants to give sellers ample time to adjust to the new one.
