The Story of Last Season:

After a 19/20 campaign in which Schalke hopelessly slumped to relegation, fans of Die Königsblauen can now once again get off their seat for a year back in the Bundesliga.

It wasn’t always smooth sailing en route to promotion - requiring a change of management, an expensive roster, and of course Simon Terodde - but in the end Die Königsblauen achieved the absolute maximum, bouncing straight back to the topflight with a Zweite Liga Meisterschaft in hand.

Now though, the real work begins.

Die Königsblauen may have the second largest fanbase in Germany, the 4th largest stadium in the country, and an illustrious European history, but the quest to re-establish themselves amongst the top sides in the Bundesliga will be a long and arduous task.

The Star Player:

A single star player, at least in the Bundesliga, isn’t to be seen in the roster. Instead, if there is one figure who can make or break this next season, it will be the fans.
