Do you remember how fun it was to make money for the first time as a teenager or young adult?

The freedom you felt with money in your bank account that was entirely yours to spend? The potential you felt about the world now that you had your own cash.

Woah! That was amazing, wasn't it? The world was your oyster. And it felt like nobody could tell you what to do.

Do you still have that feeling in your business? The exhilaration of being your own boss? Those sneaky thoughts that ask whether you're really getting away with it *chuckle*.

Or is it a trudge between admin, taxes, team stuff, marketing, etc? Sigh...

This week's marekting tip is more like an inspirational speech for you.

Make your marketing fun.

So much of the fun of building a business gets lost in the day-to-day.

Think back about the first cash you earned and that feeling - or the feeling of leaving high school. The world really was your oyster. You were excited to do your thing. To explore. To live your life.

The whispers of "life isn't just fun and games" were far away. And the responsibilities of adult life were at a benign distance.

There's this sweet spot in young adulthood where you feel the freedom and possibility of being the captain of your own ship, while the (perceived) seriousness of it all hasn't caught up with you, yet.

In business, an attitude like that can be helpful. It helps you focus more on what you can do and what you're excited to create for the world, than your perceived limitations.

How To Do It

Today, channel your inner 18-year-old and see what ideas you can come up with in your marketing that feel free and fun.

Is there something that's in the back of your mind that you keep talking yourself out of, because "no, it's impossible, not this, not that, bla bla bla".

What would happen if you leaned into fun with this? What could happen, if you allowed that flippant my way or the highway attitude of your glorious inner 18-year-old to come out momentarily?

What sounds so fun in your business and marketing that it's too good to be true?
