Negative Nancy says - AI-based products can be built only with years of tuning the machine learning model with petabytes of data. Me - That is correct. Without huge data, it is not possible to train an AI/ML model. But the good part is, the current cloud providers are already doing this with years of data they have. They have built the required models that can be used via simple API calls. For example, AWS Polly converts text to speech in various languages using an API call. AWS Rekognition extracts metadata from images just by API calls. In cases like this, you don’t need to do a lot of work around the model building. Once you have enough customers and deeper domain knowledge, you can fine-tune this with your models. Negative Nancy says - There are already many products in the market built on AI. How can I build a new product that no one ever implemented using AI? Me - It’s the other way round. By looking for a new idea that no one ever implemented, you are taking a higher risk as no one validated that idea yet. For first-time founders, it’s better to pick that something that is already working in the market and sees to fine tune that with more features, better support, good price point.
