This post will cover one SAAS area and talk about multiple niches in this space. This post also explains how to do tech implementation, do market analysis, how the current players are doing, and ends with a cost analysis to understand the overall cost for 100 users.

We are going to see some good Micro SaaS ideas around something called - ‘Supabase’.

If you haven’t heard of Supabase, it’s okay. This is relatively a new platform gaining a lot of traction and hundreds of people started using this platform. But you can start looking at it here.

Let dive deep and see about this rapidly trending niche.

Me - Supabase is relatively new. But while being in beta, the growth of Supabase is phenomenal. There are 22K searches per month for ‘Supabase’ and this much search volume is huge for a newcomer.

Negative Nancy says - ‘Why do people use Supabase instead of Airtable, Google sheets, and Notion?

Me - Well, each has its advantages and disadvantages. While Airtable, Google sheets, and Notion are more around no code, Supabase revolves a little bit of tech to use the platform. But there is a good number of advantages of building applications of Supabase. Almost all platforms like Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion come with limitations around the number of requests and usage. With Supabase, users have no limitations around requests/usage and so founders are using Supabase to build applications without the need to worry about limitations by third-party platforms like Google, Airtable, Notion, etc.

For starters, Supabase is an all-in-one platform for backend API, database, storage, and auth for building SaaS applications. Supabase significantly reduces the development time to build backend for apps and Micro SaaS applications.

How is Supabase different from Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion & Coda?

Platforms like Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion are being used by thousands of users every day to store data. But these platforms come with their own limitations in the number of requests, requests/second, number of users, etc. To remove this limitation, Enterprise companies are looking for other alternatives as easy as Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion but not as complex as setting up the database server, writing APIs, etc. That is where exactly ‘Supabase’ is coming into the picture. It brings the ease of NoCode platforms and brings the advantages of databases with just a little bit of setup/low code.

Building solutions on Supabase also helps customers to maintain compliances like GDPR etc as the data is managed by you instead of being managed by Google, Airtable, Notion, etc.

• Form builder to insert data into Supabase: There are many form builders available with a lot of integrations for pushing data to Google Sheets, Airtable, etc. Create a Form builder that runs on top of Supabase and pushes data to Supabase. Make sure the form builder is super dynamic with drag and drop functionality. If you could add conditional logic to the calculator like ConvertCalculator (by the way ConvertCalculator crossed $10K MRR by building NoCode Form builder), it would make it much better. But instead of saving the form data on your server, you would let customers connect their Supabase account and map the data to their Supabase Database Tables/fields. This is a big requirement for many industries and Enterprise customers in various domains like Finance, Mechanical industries where there is a great need for forms and data entry every day. A one-packaged solution for a hosted form builder that runs on top of customers’ Supabase will be a good fit.

• File uploader that runs on Supabase Object storage: File uploader for SaaS applications is still a problem to be solved because of the complexities involved with setup, storage, limitations, setting error messages, etc. That is why the solutions like Micro SaaS solutions like SimpleFileUpload crossed $1K MRR in less than 6 months after the launch. • NoCode tool to send data to Supabase: Create a Micro SaaS NoCode tool that can insert data into Supabase from various data sources. For example, if someone wants to send the Shopify data into Supabase, the tool should be able to do the setup with drag and drop controls to select the source, target, actions, and recurring schedule. Similarly, if someone wants to send their Stripe data, Youtube data, or any other data from APIs to their Supabase account, it takes a lot of time to write the code, do the recurring setup, etc. Create a no-code automation tool that can solve this purpose primarily to push data into Supabase from various data sources. • Blogging solution that runs on Supabase: There are several blogging solutions like Ghost, WordPress, etc. Because of the power of SEO, most people want to set up blogs and own the content without going through complex server setups. Create a Micro SaaS solution that can create a blog and run on top of a customer Supabase account. Supabase has options like a database to store data, file storage to store files. Building a proper blog solution on top of Supabase is will be a good solution for most people to run the blog on their own infrastructure without the need to do multiple setups.
