  • 🔥 The History of Burning Man - Burning Man, the week-long celebration in the badlands of Nevada that attracts nearly 75,000 attendees annually. The very first “doodle” to appear on Google’s home page in 1998 was a stick-figure man that served as an “out-of-the-office” message informing visitors that the entire garage-based company had gone to Burning Man. The roster of tech icons who are Burners is legion. Sightings of Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg is common. Elon Musk is famously quoted saying “Burning Man is Silicon Valley.”  Read more
  • 💰 Token Vesting and Allocations Industry Benchmarks - For crypto projects launching a token, determining who receives your tokens and how they're distributed are a few of the design decisions in your control. These critical decisions can materially impact your token's perception and performance, as they're some of the few (and sparse) signals that can clue if the team and early backers have the right incentives in place. Read more
  • 📉 Softbank Vision Fund Reported $23 billion Loss - SoftBank is planning to slash a minimum of 100 positions. The cuts will mostly be in the UK, US and China operations. The Vision Fund had about 500 employees.  SoftBank said last month that it had raised more than $17 billion by selling forward contracts on Alibaba. Read more
  • 👍 State of Private Markets: Q2 2022 - Venture capital is in a slowdown, but not a freefall. The median capital raised in a seed round is $3M, Series A is $9M, and Series B is $20M. Read more
