'Doctor Who' Is a Convoluted Mess I Still Love

October 26, 2022

Every few years, a particular flavor of geek experiences simultaneous sadness and excitement when the eponymous character of Doctor Who regenerates into a new actor to lead the series into its next phase.

If you don’t know what that means, you’re not alone. Luckily our editor-in-chief, Josh Hendrickson, is that particular flavor of geek. In our top story, he lays out everything you need to know about Doctor Who and why it seems so complicated these days.

Who is the Doctor? What’s a regeneration? How many Doctors have there been? And how does that all affect where the show goes now that Jodie Whittaker has left the role to ***spoilers***? It’s convoluted, complicated, and just plain confusing if you aren’t up-to-date on the show. Josh does his best to catch you up.

Other Highlights:

  • Once you’ve got the primer, you may want to jump into streaming Doctor Who. Unfortunately, that’s a convoluted mess too. Our news editor, Andrew Heinzman, walks you through how and where to watch the show.
  • Amazon now lets you pay for your purchases with Venmo.
  • The 10 classic Star Trek movies that disappeared from Paramount+ this month are coming back in November but on a different platform.
  • …and more

These USB rechargeable light bars have 30 LEDs, meaning they get plenty bright. The package also comes with metal mounting plates for areas that aren’t already metal so you can mount them anywhere easily.
