How's your blogging week been?

As October draws to a close, I can report that we've had a rather productive month at ProBlogger. We've been experimenting with a few different affiliate promotions and have made a couple of changes to the ProBlogger Job Board (more about that below).

I like to constantly try different things, keep learning and experimenting. I urge you to do this too. Not only does it keep life interesting it also benefits your blog and your business. Read my article "7 Habits of Lucky Entrepreneurs" for more about this 'experimental' approach.

Without a launch plan for your product it's unlikely anybody ever buys it.

In this article I share my product launch countdown sequence with you.

ProBlogger Job Board Updates

You might remember that back in July we made it so that applicants to the Job Board needed to first register as Candidates. This has raised the quality of applications by reducing the number of spam/scam applications Employers needed to filter through thereby increasing genuine applicants' chances of getting noticed and scoring a job.

In just a few months, our Candidate numbers have grown from 3,000 to over 9,000 and they just keep going up. So we decided we'd highlight this on the front page of the Job Board. More and better quality candidates attract more and better quality advertisers and their jobs, as you can also see from the increasing number of Successful Job Posts and the count of Active Jobs in the past month.

This is an example of our web design recognising two important audiences for the job board - Advertisers and Applicants - and presenting them the benefits of the site up-front.

Hopefully we see these numbers continue going up!

Back in November of 2002 when I first hit ‘publish’ on my original (and short lived) Blogspot Blog I did so believing that this ‘blogging thing’, which I’d only just heard of, would be a bit of fun. I started for a number of reasons but in short it was curiosity and the hope of a new hobby and perhaps some new connections that drew me to it. At the time I was working three jobs.

Over time, through hard work and discipline, using the techniques I’m going to share with you in these courses, my blogs have grown from a hobby (some would say an obsession), to a part-time, then a full-time job, all the way through to a fully fledged business employing a team of people.
