Worth noting something here. See how the majority of the sites aren't hitting? This is one of the reasons I like buying! When you buy a website/online business that already makes money, you're paying for the cashflow AND the product market fit. The PMF if you will.

You are basically guaranteeing you get a site thats on the right side of that chart, as opposed to one on the left side that isnt getting much traffic.

This Week’s Opportunity

This week we found a pretty nice little content site over on Flippa. Some of you will hate it. Others will see an opp. This newsletter is here to show you all kinds of deals. Im going to start spending more time highlighting sites with pros AND cons. And talk about sides of both.

Ok so right off the bat, the things we DONT like about this site.

• It has almost no authority, tons of the keywords could be taken over by competitors if the site doesnt getter backlink profile
• Very new website
• Seller BIN is overpriced
• Content is poorly written

Ok, so we have covered that! Now lets look at the site

​

Ok so first off, I would do a light rebrand here. Its too simple. We also would want to get some backlinks built to this site ASAP. The fact that it ranks for so many keywords without any authority, means a stronger competitor could take over its rankings.

BUT

This also makes me think this niche has TONS of opportunities like the ones it is ranking for already.

I went into Ahrefs, and did a quick analysis of its competitors. There are several that are just as weak in terms of authority, and ranking for WAY more keywords.

For some this could be a turn off. For others? I see an opp to beat the competitors, and start building great backlinks ASAP, to hold onto the rankings it already has.

Some notes to consider:

➔ The site is already monetized with ezoic AND amazon

➔ The content is poorly written, I would go in and clean it up ASAP.

➔ Would look into installing Lasso, and using different affiliate programs for monetization like home depot, lowes, etc.

If one were to buy this site here is what they would do:

​

• BUILD SOME BACKLINKS! The site is doing great, but it has no authority. I would want to do a backlink gap analysis to see where my competitors had great links from, and start building some links to protect the sites rankings.

​

• CLEAN UP THE CONTENT. It was clearly written by someone who isnt great at English. I would suggest the buyer be either an actual user of these tools, or know writers who are.

​

• Figure out what keywords have high traffic and are on page 2! With a few backlinks we could bring lots of those pages to page 1 and increase traffic drastically. The amount of traffic a site gets being on page 2 for a keyword is NOTHING in comparison to what it can get when it hits page one.

​

Last on my list would be to get the site redesigned and pulled together to feel more like a cohesive brand. Would consider switching to Astra or Generate press for the sites theme.

The website is making $USD $133 /mo per month average over the last year and is currently bid at $1k or so currently, with a buy it now set at $11k.

The last couple months, the site has done amazingly though. Considering the recent google updates, and ranking changes the last 2 months Im both surprised and impressed its survived and continued to grow!

Last month it did a little over $300 in profit....which is why the seller thinks its worth $11k.

Its not in my opinion

I would think that more like $6-8k was the range this site should go for. Considering it has no moat and will need work quickly to keep it where it's at and grow.

I wanted to highlight this site to show you, that for the right person with the right plan, it could be a win.

But for the wrong person it could be a disaster. These are online businesses, you should have an idea of how to run them or fix them if you plan on buying them.

OR maybe you saw this listing and thought "that sites garbage...but I can beat it"

A lesson here either way.

As always...do your own due diligence, the above is based off of what I see as an opportunity from the info provided in the listing and some light due diligence. It just one of many scenarios that could play out and its up to you to do your own due diligence and see if this makes sense for you!

Ok guys, I want to take a moment to highlight a site for sale from a friend of mine...BowTiedWookie. He's a killer, was one of the first people to join our site flipping program, and now I always ask him to come and teach lessons to people in our program.

4 year old website in health niche stated to be making $2,300/m in revenue L3M being sold by BowTiedWookie (a great Substack btw).

Seller says:

• Revenue currently 38% affiliate, 24% direct ads partnership, 22% Amazon Associates, 13% digital product, 3% KDP.
• Site was created in 2018, aged domain added in summer 2021, we bought it in October 2021 from private Twitter sale.
• Went from 68 -> 228 published posts
• The site has gotten a boost in the last 5 consecutive core algo updates but there is always risk when you rely on one traffic source
• 15 posts currently ordered from writers (free with the purchase of site)
• 3 HARO links currently ordered from the Agency (free with the purchase of site)
• Mediavine launched in mid-October (site was ad-free before this)
• Had almost 3K subs but recently cut the list to ~750 - our emails are not great, huge opportunity for someone who understands email
• There are a lot of small DTC companies in this niche. We started renting our Facebook pixel out to one of them this month as a test. If we held onto the site we’d hire a VA to DM every single DTC company in the space and try to rent the pixel to them
