Our collaboration with Pozzle Planet started a year ago when they first reached out to discuss the creation of a token.

Pozzle Planet wanted to create a fun and social on-ramp for 15 million global citizens into sustainable living and cryptocurrency by 2024. To achieve their ambitious goal, they wanted to create a whole universe around “pozitivity“, and let anyone record videos of themself doing a positive activity. By spreading positivity, members would get rewarded by earning $POZ, Pozzle Planet currency for a pozitive world.

After some back and forth, Pozzle Planet created the $POZ token on Coinvise.

When they originally launched, it was simply a token-gated group chat on a Discord server. But over the course of a few months, founders Thomas Bisballe & Lady Pozzle, with the assistance of early community members, built out different new features, such as a new token design or the ability for members to stake their tokens.

Last week, after having attracted more than 8,000 members in their Pozzle Universe in a 12 months, they finally released their well-rounded mobile application where members can socialize, take positive actions and inspire others.

With this recent release, we figured it was perfect timing to deep-dive into this thriving project, and see the elements that made them thrive.

Without further ado, let’s get to it.

1. Tokenizing Positivity.

Of the many things that Web3 can revolutionize, the opportunity to tokenize intangible assets is, in my opinion, one of the most promising ones.

Indeed, by letting projects tokenize their intangible assets, meaning issuing fungibles or non-fungible tokens for fans to purchase or earn, Web3 projects can finally get an easy way to measure what’s not tangible (e.g., love, gratitude, positivity, feeling of membership, etc.), and fans can now own, compose with, and transport these assets.

Pozzle Planet is one of the leading communities pushing this trend forward, taking action every day toward creating a future where positivity is tokenized.

Because there is no money today that puts value on positivity, and hence, no incentives to spread it, Pozzle Planet is trying to create a currency adopted worldwide that encourages anyone to take positive actions they could do in their everyday life by rewarding them.

2. Onboarding By Removing Complexity 

Onboarding the next 15 million global citizens into sustainable living and cryptocurrency by 2024 is not an easy task.. to say the least.

So, to accomplish their ambitious goal, the Pozzle Planet team has decided to create something people already know: Social Apps.

Pozzle Planet has created an in-app impact-to-earn social game where players do real-life activities via video to earn $POZ tokens, and unique NFTs called Pozzles.

Anyone can instantly record, add, share and earn rewards that go straight to their in-app wallet and become theirs to spend, send or save for a pozitive day. Their app keeps track of how many Pozzles are added by users and matches that with the wallets used or created to login. For members, this removes almost all complexity on the crypto side. Simply connect your wallet to the application, and receive tokens automatically - it’s that easy.

3. Rewarding Positivity

To reward positivity, Pozzle Planet uses Coinvise's Airdrop tool regularly.

The size of the airdrop depends on users' app activity, as well as the community goals related to the app's leaderboard (e.g., the size of the airdrop is multiplied when members are hitting targets of Pozzles/video added).

As shown in the graphic below, they reward members daily, and have created more than 100 contributor vesting contracts and airdrops over the last year. That's what we call spreading positivity.

What we also really like about Pozzle Planet is that $POZ doesn’t get minted like crazy like many other tokens. $POZ is already minted through Coinvise, and has a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens that are locked into a vault.

They have created their own smart-contract in such a way that $POZ can only be ‘mined’ into circulation (released from the vault) when a positive activity is done by a user of the mobile app. So the emissions are correlated with the usage of their social-platform ecosystem and hence value growth. Once mined, the Pozzle Planet team can send those tokens to members who added Pozzle on the app.

4. Making Things Fun

Finally, the Pozzle Planet team has understood early-on that fun, one of the 6 Principles For Building A Successful Web3 Community, is essential to thrive.

Indeed, by giving individuals toys to accomplish activities that are normally difficult to accomplish (i.e. living sustainably) and rewarding them using cryptocurrency, Pozzle Planet showcases how easy it is to live in harmony with the planet and receive compensation for it.

Members join Web3 communities because they WANT to. Not because they HAVE to.

If you’re a community asking members to take actions, you better optimize for fun and positivity.

Closing thoughts

Pozzle Planet is another example of what can be done through a tokenized community that couldn’t be done in any Web2 community. They leveraged the power of tokens to create something truly remarkable by aligning the incentives between members and the planet.

Every day, they are spreading positivity, and are participating in making our world a better one.
