Could you briefly introduce your previous experiences? When did you enter the crypto space, and how did you make your first big profit? What achievements have you had so far?

CryptoD: Hi, I’m CryptoD. Actually, I entered the crypto space in 2016 while I was still in university, when Bitcoin was around $300. I was introduced to crypto through a friend, and though I knew nothing about it at the time, I blindly bought a few Bitcoins. When the price doubled, I was so happy to sell them, not realizing this was just the beginning of my journey.

After graduating and completing my military service, I realized blockchain could be a huge opportunity for the next 10 years, so I decided to dive into the Web3 space. During my career, I worked in various roles such as MKT at exchanges, VC researcher, VC trader, and BD at exchanges, accumulating a good amount of industry experience. By the end of 2023, I resigned from my job and decided to focus fully on building my own community.

As for my first big profit, it came during the last bull market when I focused on the secondary market. At one point, my assets peaked at several million dollars. However, during the bear market, I lost most of those gains, and that experience really taught me the importance of asset allocation and risk diversification.

In the early days of building my community, the fan base was small, but it grew significantly after the “Hippo War.” I started with a $2M market cap and grew it to $700M at its peak. That was when I first gained widespread attention in the space. Hippo was also the first memecoin that brought me over a million dollars in profit.

After that, my community and I continued to identify promising projects. We managed to catch nearly every “golden dog” token at near-bottom prices, such as $Arc, $Swarms, $Yne, $Buzz, $Agixt, $Rif, $Uro, etc. Over the course of a year, I successfully grew my assets from 1 SOL at the end of 2023 to $3.1 million.

Then there was the recent Trump coin saga, where I made $17 million in profits from a single coin.

How did you discover TRUMP coin early on? Could you tell us about the tools you use and your process for identifying promising coins?

I usually spend over 15 hours a day gathering on-chain information using GMGN. When $TRUMP launched, I was online, and members of my community also noticed it. The wallet addresses I monitor also showed that some addresses I trust were buying in.

Here’s how it went: One of my group members first posted about it in the community. At that time, the market cap was around $250M, and I immediately checked it out. Trump initially posted about it on his social media platform, TruthSocial. You could only see the contract address (CA) by visiting the official website. My first instinct was that it could be a scam or a hack since there had been previous cases of fake Trump tokens. However, after monitoring the wallet addresses on GMGN, I saw that some of the addresses I follow kept buying $TRUMP, which raised my alert.

To verify further, I discovered that the official Trump coin website allowed Americans to buy the memecoin with credit cards, which made me more confident that this was legitimate.

So, I seized the opportunity and invested all of my $450,000 worth of assets into $TRUMP. GMGN’s bots made the purchase smooth and painless for me, but I didn’t transfer additional funds from CEX back onto the blockchain for more investments, because I considered $450,000 to be the maximum risk I was willing to take. As for the outcome, we all know that $TRUMP skyrocketed from a $200M market cap to $70 billion, and I successfully made $17 million in profit.

Is TRUMP the most profitable project you’ve been involved in so far? Are there any other projects that left a strong impression on you? Did you participate in MELANIA?

TRUMP is currently my most profitable project, and I believe it’s unlikely that there will be another opportunity in the market that can surpass TRUMP’s record.

In the early days of building my community, the number of members was actually quite small. It wasn’t until the “Hippo War” that we saw significant growth. At that time, with $Moodeng, I started with a $2M market cap and grew it to $700M at its peak. That was also when I first gained widespread attention in the space. Hippo was also the first memecoin where I made over a million dollars in profit on a single coin. After that, my community and I continued to discover promising projects, and we managed to catch almost every “golden dog” token at near-bottom prices, like $Arc, $Swarms, $Yne, $Buzz, $Agixt, $Rif, $Uro, etc. Before the Trump coin saga, my total profits were around $3M.

As for MELANIA, I did not participate in MELANIA. The main reason is that I already had TRUMP. I saw MELANIA as just a copy of Trump’s coin, and since I already held $TRUMP, there was no need to take on the extra risk of buying into a copy.

What’s your current view on Trump launching his own coin, and what do you think the future holds for TRUMP’s price?

I’m generally optimistic about the future of the meme market. Trump’s success has definitely attracted real outside capital into the space, which shows that the market isn’t lacking money. What’s truly lacking are high-quality projects. I believe that over time, with the accumulation of market sentiment and the flow of funds, other “big dogs” will appear. As long as you seize the opportunity, this market still holds a lot of potential.

I’ve noticed that in recent market trends, such as with VINE, you still acted early and heavily. Is this your trading style? Do you have a methodology for MEME coins?

Actually, I bought into VINE a bit later than most. The main reason is that after TRUMP, I decided to take a break for a while. However, when VINE first launched, it was already spotted by members of my community, and some of them ended up making good profits.

As for the heavy investment, this is actually part of my trading strategy. I usually determine the amount to invest based on the market cap when I first discover the coin, and I control my investment to be between 0.2% and 1% of the total token supply. For example, if the market cap is $1M, I would invest between $2,000 and $10,000; if the market cap is $10M, my investment range would be between $20,000 and $100,000.

This strategy serves two purposes: First, to avoid holding too many tokens, which could lead to a situation where the market makers choose to dump the coin. Second, to ensure that I get a reasonable risk-to-reward ratio. While this may seem like a large investment from a beginner’s perspective, for me, it’s just part of executing my trading plan — a strategy that has been developed through long-term practice.

What’s your judgment on the future of the MEME market? Can it continue, or will it fade like the previous inscriptions wave?

I remain very optimistic about this market, especially after Trump launched his coin, which really brought in a substantial amount of external capital. Additionally, with ELON as the king of memes, now becoming one of Trump’s close figures, it has further fueled the market’s enthusiasm. Right now, the market doesn’t lack funds; what’s truly lacking are quality projects.

As for inscriptions, I didn’t participate, so I’m not in a position to comment much on it. But based on the current state of the MEME market, I remain confident about its future.

In the spread of MEMEs, is the role of KOLs important? How do they contribute at different stages?

I believe KOLs are important in the meme market, but not just anyone can fulfill this role. They must have a proven track record or a unique insight into a project. They should be able to help fans or community members understand project information early on and analyze it from an objective perspective, rather than just pushing sales pitches.

As for where KOLs play a role, I believe their primary contribution is when the value of a project hasn’t been fully recognized by the market yet. Some projects really need KOLs’ analysis to attract more attention and show the market their potential. However, whether a project ultimately succeeds still depends on its fundamentals. The value of KOLs lies in guiding attention, not in determining the final outcome.

If a complete beginner wants to get into Solana and start “chasing golden dogs,” what advice would you give them?

First of all, for beginners, I recommend starting by entering a learning environment. No matter whose group you join, the environment is crucial. It’s like learning English — if you want to improve your English skills quickly, the best method is to immerse yourself in an English-speaking environment and force yourself to actively learn. The same goes for chasing golden dogs. Being in a high-intensity environment will greatly accelerate your growth.

Next, choose the right tools. I recommend GMGN, and I don’t think I need to elaborate on why. It’s been incredibly helpful in helping me achieve my results. Beginners can start by collecting addresses associated with “smart money.” Even if you’re clueless at first, you can find resources on Twitter and add those addresses to GMGN’s monitoring tool. The next focus is to understand the characteristics of each smart money address and figure out what kinds of projects they excel in. Remember, don’t blindly follow others, and don’t buy things you don’t understand because profits and losses come from your understanding and how well you can capitalize on that.

Then, there’s position control and training for setting take-profit and stop-loss levels. I suggest that newcomers to Solana should avoid trying to catch the bottom or averaging down their positions. 99% of projects on Solana are one-hit wonders. For your take-profit strategy, start by taking out your initial investment once it doubles, and use GMGN’s order functionality to help with that.

For me, I see a lot of similarities between the primary market and poker. Both involve analyzing uncertainty — whether it’s the token issuers /dev or the market makers — and designing long-term strategies that can’t be exploited.

Here are some of the similarities I see:

The biggest risk in the primary market is becoming a “bagholder” or being exploited by other players (like whales, devs, or market makers).

The concept of Poker GTO (Game Theory Optimal) teaches us that we should design a balanced strategy that keeps us from being driven by emotions or overly aggressive behavior, thus avoiding being manipulated or exploited. For example, don’t go all-in on a single token. Instead, diversify your funds and set reasonable price targets for incremental take-profit. In extreme FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) situations, a rational GTO strategy would tell you not to blindly chase the highs but to make calm decisions based on mathematical probabilities and historical market patterns.

Range Balancing vs. Market Signals and Position Management

Poker GTO: In every betting action, the balance is achieved based on your opponent’s behavior, your own hand range, and the potential community cards. For example, you balance between value betting and bluffing.

Range balancing in the primary market can be likened to how you interpret market signals and manage your funds:

• Value Bet: Invest in projects that you believe have intrinsic potential, such as those with active community support or high certainty (similar to having a strong hand in poker).

• Bluff: For high-risk, high-reward short-term speculation or PVP (player versus player) projects, you can take small positions to test the waters. However, this should be limited to a specific proportion of your portfolio to avoid overexposure to risk.

Long-Term Positive EV Rational Profit Target

Poker GTO: The key is achieving long-term positive expected value (EV). You don’t need to win every hand, but rather maximize your overall profitability. The same applies to the primary market — this market is highly volatile, and trying to maximize profits on every single trade can lead to massive losses.

In the primary market, you must accept that some projects may fail or rug-pull, but with a disciplined overall strategy, asset growth is achievable. You can’t control the market, but you can control your positions. Remember, the market shows no mercy to those who go all-in recklessly. As long as you’re still in the game, there’s hope. I’ve seen many success stories in my 1000X GEM community, where members started with just a few SOL and grew their holdings into hundreds of SOL. You can do it too.
